KG says
What a list! I see lots of reading in my future. I appreciate all your time and hard work in putting this website together.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
KG, I’m glad you enjoy seeing these monthly lists AND thank you for the kind words!
SueAnn says
I am so glad you do these lists! Makes my shopping so much easier..and I can keep track of my favorite authors too!!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
SueAnn, these lists make it easier for me, too! Good to hear you enjoy them…
Jo says
Woot! I love these posts! There are always series I’ve yet to try, and it’s so satisfying to start a series in which there are already several books available. Catching up with such a series is the only sort of marathon in which I participate!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Jo, you and me >>> both! Marathon, shmarathon… except when it comes to books! (Hmmm… I think that pretty much is the reason it seems I’m continually on diets!)
Sheila in CT says
Jo and Danna – I agree with both of you. My problem is I don’t know where to start first.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Jo, also, if I read too many of one of my favorite authors in a row, I sometimes get tired of some of the things that endeared me to the series. So, for now, my “marathons” consist of Cozy Mysteries >>> but never two in a row by the same author.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Jo, I remember when I first “found out” about M.C. Beaton’s mysteries – several years ago. I marathon-read through them and was delighted to do so. Now I try to pace myself with authors because I find that if I read too many in a series back-to-back, I start tiring of the series.
Nancy says
Cannot wait for the M.C. Beaton and William Kent Krueger. Two if my favorites.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Nancy, there are a few that I have already ordered. I follow several of these Cozy Mystery series. Now, if I could only catch up with them!
Bootigs says
WOW! Thank you so much for this list! Some of my favorite authors are here plus some new ones that sound intriguing. Really appreciate the effort that went into to posting this for us.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Bootigs, you’re welcome. For those of us who like Camille Minichino, this is a big month! She’s releasing one as Margaret Grace and another as Jean Flowers!
PamB says
Excited for several of these new releases…..especially the Margaret Grace book. Recently started this series and enjoyed the coziness …..so much I read several in a row. Thank you for making sure we never run out of books to read! Appreciate all you do.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
PamB, I know! I’m always super-excited when I see that Gerry is going to be solving another mystery! If you like this series, you might enjoy her Periodic Table mysteries…
PamB says
Yes, I recently finished reading and really enjoyed the Periodic Table mysteries and the Sophie Knowles mysteries. Wish she was still writing full length books for both of these series.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
PamB, I don’t know how she can keep up with all of her series. I haven’t started reading her Postmistress series yet, but it’s on my TBR list.
Billie says
I just put my name on list at local library for M.C. Beaton book, “Pushing Up Daisies “. Of course there are 20 people ahead of me.
I watched the Agatha Raisin program on Acorn last night. Not what I expected! Some characters are a lot younger than I pictured them in my mind…not sure about this show!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Billie, YIKES is pretty much all I can say about this particular adaptation of one of our favorite Cozies! I don’t mind some glamour-izing, but really!? Agatha as a beautiful blonde? The producers changed this show to reflect what they wanted Agatha Raisin to be, not what she is! I agree with you: “not sure about this show!”
Billie says
Danna, thank you for your input. I am disappointed (hope that is not a negative remark). I had such high hopes for this program. I would love to know what M.C. Beaton thinks. I wonder if she had any “say” ??
Keep up the excellent work that you provide for us. You are a blessing!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Billie, I told my husband what I wrote about the show and he said it sounded like I was a bit negative. Hmmm… Well, I’m thinking that it’s because I had the same “high hopes for this program” as you did. However, I’ll probably watch the episodes they air, and just use the “it’s not connected in any way with the mystery books” approach.
Ann says
I can’t believe there are 27 Agatha Raisin books, I’m far behind on this series.
Ann
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Ann, I’m right there with you >>> both on being surprised there are 27 Agathas AND on being “far behind on the series.”!
Margaret StashEmpress says
Oh wow — a new Lucy Stone AND a new Gerry (miniature) title — good times ahead! (And lets not forget Agatha!)
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Margaret StashEmpress, you aren’t kidding! And I love it when the holiday Cozies start appearing!
Barbara says
Question regarding J.D. Robb’s “Apprentice in Death”. I am wondering if there is little profanity in this novel. Most Eve Dallas stories have more than a “little” 🙁
I put it on my to-read list but thought I would check.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Barbara, unfortunately I am quite behind on my J.D. Robb reading list so I can’t say for certain! I would assumed that it is about the same amount of profanity as the rest of the series.
