Well, autumn is finally here! It’s the time of year that I look forward to the most — it takes us out of 100* weather (sometimes, not so much!) and people start decorating for the various holidays that will arrive soon. As you can see from my Turner Classic Movies roster of mystery and or/crime movies, the first one on the list is the 1949 “Little Women” movie – which is not a mystery movie but it does qualify as a Christmas movie. It’s not my favorite Little Women movie, but it is good. (My favorite, as I have mentioned more than several times, is the 1933 Little Women with Katherine Hepburn.)
Also, something else I have mentioned more than a few times is how much I enjoy the old “Halloween-type” movies. This is the time of year that I set my DVR for movies that star actors like Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff, Peter Cushing, Bela Lugosi, Christopher Lee, ETC!!! I don’t know when I became a “Halloween-type” fan, but I just like these types of movies. If you do, too, check out these dates on TCM’s guide: Friday – Oct. 16, Saturday – Oct. 24, Thursday – Oct. 29 through Saturday – Oct. 31. I can’t wait!
And, in case you’re a fan of the old “Thin Man” mystery movies, TCM will be showing them starting Monday – Oct. 12 through Tuesday – Oct. 13.
Here are the mystery and/or crime movies that the Turner Classic Movies channel will be showing during October 2026:
