Bev S says
Just finished reading book 5 “Arsenic and Old Silk” in the Secrets of the Quilt series….was on pins and needles the whole time to see if the heroine of the book would get back where she belonged.
A great series and this book was really well written, just when you were ready for the next page, it flipped either back in time or back to the present.
Was curious, Henry’s mother was Elizabeth Blount, and the author’s middle name is also Blount….wonder if there is any connection there….
This series is well worth the read, and now on to book 6, Target for Revenge by Marlene Chase
One thing I do, which may help others, if the series doesn’t have the book number on the spine, some series do and some don’t, then on the first page I put the number of the book in the top right corner…helps when there are several books waiting to be read.
Have a wonderful weekend….some of us will be celebrating 1 July as Canada and others 4 July as Independence Day, and then a few of us will be celebrating both days…like me….

Bev S, thanks for letting us know how good these Secrets of the Quilt Cozies are. That’s interesting about her (possibly) using her middle name as a character. I’ve often wondered if authors use their children’s names when they invent pseudonyms.
I like your idea of penciling the number of the book. I wonder if a piece of masking tape on the spine would come off easily. It would certainly help if you put the books on a bookshelf. I use masking tape a lot around the house and it usually doesn’t ruin things when you take it off, but I’m not sure about a paper cover…
Pat says
At our library, to help the patrons, we have been using a label maker printer to label the spine of the book with the number. It probably won’t come off, but then we don’t want it to!

Pat, thanks for the tip.
Sheila in CT says

Sheila in CT, thank you for the kind words. I’m so glad you enjoy it around here!
KG says
I’m looking forward to the new Lee Hollis book – Death of a Pumpkin Carver. The trick for me will be to save it for reading in October!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
KG, that’s exactly my problem! I’ve been able to save some books, but it’s terribly difficult…
Margaret M. says
WOW, look at the length of that list.
Happy Independence Day!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Margaret M, I hope your fourth of July is terrific, as well. Oh, and make it a safe one!

"neice" says
Is it just me, but am I the only one still grieving and soooo sad about the ending of the Penny Foot Hotel mystery series? I am still stuck in the Edwardean and Victorian time period and refuse to budge! life is rough and I miss “Penny Foot”…… does anyone know of any series like the Penny Foot hotel by kate kingsbury, setting England, Edwardean and Victorian my preferance!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Neice, I think there are several of us who were sorry when the Penny Foot Hotel closed up its doors. I was so sorry to see Kate Kingsbury’s Christmas Cozies end that I wrote this entry in November of 2014: Kate Kingsbury Special Pennyfoot Hotel Christmas Mystery Series Released during Past Novembers. They were sort of a Christmas tradition…
Terrylynn says

Noreen says
Hi there, I just discovered this excellent reference site! I have been trying to come to terms with my long commute by listening to audiobooks, mostly cozy mysteries. Now I have a treasure chest of titles to hunt down in the library! Thanks ?
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Noreen, welcome to the site. Glad you find it useful.
Shirley says
I remember reading a cozy mystery recently, where the protagonist had hearing aids and mentioned it in the story. I can’t remember much else. Hope someone reading this can tell me who the author is or the name of the mystery. I love this site and have asked questions before and appreciate the quick replies.
Thank you…..
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Shirley, the only Cozy series I can recall offhand that has a sleuth with a hearing aid is the Josiah Reynolds Beekeeper Mystery Series by Abigail Keam. Is it possible that’s what you’re thinking of?
Janice says
Kathleen Bridge writes the Hamptons Home & Garden Mystery series in which the main character is hearing impaired and wears hearing aids. The second book in the series came out recently.
Shirley says
Thank you Janice,
Yes that is the series I was thinking of.
Thank you too Danna
I love this site and all of you are so very helpful and so quick to answer.
