I just wanted to tell you about another cozy series – LOL (Little Old Lady) series by Lorena McCourtney. It is really funny. It is a Christian series though.
Invisible (Ivy Malone Mystery Series #1) by Lorena McCourtney

Hi Susan,
Thanks so much for telling us about Lorena McCourtney. I just took a look at her website, and I will try to add her to the Cozy Mystery site very soon…
Deborah says
Annie Griffin has a series featuring two middle aged sisters that is funny as well as cozy.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Hi Deborah,
Thank you for letting us know about Annie Griffin.
Regina says
I know that you have Hazel Holt under authors whose last names begin with “H”, but she also belongs with the Senior Sleuths. R
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Thank you, Regina, for reminding me >>> I just corrected my oversight.
Thanks, again…

Maxie McNabb, Sue Henry
Rochelle says
Never mind, I looked under Maxie McNabb rather than Sue Henry. Lol

I’m listening to my first Mrs. Pollifax from Audible dot com. Really enjoying it. Reminds me of the Phyllis Whitney mysteries I enjoyed so much when I was a kid. I believe its the Amazing Miss Pollifax. Anyway, it’s the one that was written in 1970 which takes place in Turkey. Nice change from straight murder.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Oh, Marion, you just brought back all sorts of memories for me. Before we joined Audible.com, I relied on my library for the mysteries I listened to. Lucky for me they had almost all of Dorothy Gilman‘s Mrs. Pollifax mysteries on tape. Since I used to drive my children to and from school (for some reason they were always the first to be picked up and the last to be dropped off on the school bus route >>> which meant they had to be in the bus about an hour) Mrs. Pollifax was a perfect “person” to go with me on the rides. I loved all of those mysteries.
If you get a chance to watch the old 1971 Mrs. Pollifax: Spy movie with Rosalind Russell and Darren McGavin (before he became A Christmas Story‘s Ralphie’s dad), it’s a lot of fun. TCM showed it a while back, and I enjoyed it immensely.

My Frannie Shoemaker Campground Mysteries follow a group of retirees who camp together and sometimes stumble over dead bodies. All four books are IndieBRAG Medallion honorees and there will be a new one out in the next couple of weeks called “To Cache a Killer.” The group is geocaching while camping.–Karen Musser Nortman

Karen, thanks for mentioning your Frannie Shoemaker Campground Mysteries. I’ll go add them to this Senior Sleuth list.
Dorothy says
Author Cate Price – wrote 3 excellent books about a retired school teacher who opens a vintage notions store and solves mysteries. Unfortunately the publisher won’t publish any more of the series and owns the rights so although her 3 books are great – sadly there won’t be more unless we get the publisher to release the rights or publish more books.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Dorothy, thank you! I just added Cate Price to this list of Senior Sleuths.
Susan* says
Anne Purser’s ‘Ivy Beasley’ mysteries also belong on this list. Ivy is a senior who lives in an ‘assisted living’ facility, and ‘investigates’ (Sticks her nose into! Lol!) any local murder.
‘Senior Sleuths’ are always fun. Thanks for adding this to your themes!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Susan*, I’m glad you looked over this list. I don’t know how Ivy escaped being added to it! Thank you.

I’m looking for a fiction or mystery book where an older married couple are on a trip(might be a food tour). But they’re in Europe somewhere & I THINK someone gets sick. Every chapter or two though is a different narrator(ie. her POV and then his POV).
I believe that the woman’s name is Caroline/Carolyn but I can’t remember her husband’s name.
It’s been awhile since I’ve read it & I’d like to try and find it again.
Thanks
Danna - cozy mystery list says
R., hmm, I’m afraid that one isn’t ringing any bells! I’ve put it up in a new questions post, though.
R says
Interestingly enough, it came to me in the middle of the night. Carolyn Blue(main character) in the Culinary Mysteries series by Nancy Fairbanks. The specific book title is Death A L’Orange.
Thanks for thinking
Danna - cozy mystery list says
R, you’re welcome – I’m sorry I couldn’t help you sooner, but glad that it sounds like you figured it out on your own!
Elise Maloof says
I cannot think of the name of the series that has an elderly lady that lives in a house with a thrift shop on the bottom and has a vicar’s wife that runs it. The lady goes around picking up donations all over the English country side where she lives and has a niece who is a constable and is always having to help her aunt stay out of trouble because of her mean boss in the constabulary. Her next door neighbor is an artist and has a shop. I want to read more badly. Thank you!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Elise, I’m sorry about the lateness of this reply – I couldn’t come up with an answer to your question, but I have posed it as part of a front-of-blog post to try to see if someone else might have a solution.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Elise, if you are still interested, many readers have suggested that this might be Carola Dunn‘s Cornish Mystery Series.
Dorothy Cresswell says
Another great mystery author with a senior sleuth is Dusty Miller’s Alice Ott series. Danger in the Air, Danger at the Gates, Danger Underground, Danger in the House, and Danger Within all have memorable characters, exciting drama, surprising humor, and could be people we all know! Her central issues come from current events and I look forward to each new book! Her website is: dustyjmiller.com

The Sunnyside Retired Witches community series by Paula Lester is a great addition to not only this list, but, also, your witches theme for your paranormal section, as well as your mysteries set in California section. The series takes place in the magical town of Sunnyside CA. The main character, Zoey is in charge of a retirement home for witches and other paranormal beings, and she is a witch herself. While she herself isn’t a senior, she is assisted by her residents, most of whom are seniors. It’s available on Kindle and Audible. I’ve read the first 6 books in the series so far, and, I’ve highly enjoyed them! I would suggest however, that you get the box sets for books 1-3, and 4-6, as these books are quick reads (between 3 to 5 hours)
