MJ says
Since I’m an Amanda Flower fan, I was disappointed to see that ‘Criminally Cocoa’ is listed only on kindle. I’ve read the three books in this series. SO, I looked at the Flower facebook page to see if I could find out if she plans to publish a print version of Criminally Cocoa. I found the following post dated Dec. 18.
————-
“Dear Readers! Could this cover be cuter? Jethro in the Big City! Coming in March! This is Amish Candy Shop #3.5, a novella between the novels. Toxic Toffee, Amish Candy Shop #4 releases in July. https://amzn.to/2QDoPVz
This is an enovella only, but there will be 3 novellas in the series and after the third comes out they will be bound into a printed book. Just letting you know if you prefer print!”
———–
As I ‘interpret’ her facebook post(s), the ‘novellas’ are a spin-off in this series (probably set in NYC for a cable TV shoot). The 4th ‘actual’ book in the series, “Toxic Toffee” will be released in July (Amazon has listed a June release date) in paperback. According to the description, ‘Toxic Toffee’ will return to the Ohio Amish community setting.

MJ, that sounds about right – I can see how just publishing novellas in electronic format is probably a lot more reasonable than trying to get them into print individually. Putting them into a set when there’s enough of them to warrant a full sized novel is a good compromise, though it does mean that print readers need to wait a bit longer.
Tracey says
Hi Dana,
Do you have any idea if MC Beaton is going to put out a new book? I heard a rumor that she had retired.
Thanks,
Tracey
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Tracey, I’ve tried to find out the answer to this for some time now, but I can neither confirm nor deny that she has retired. Sorry!
W.B. says
I think she has a new Agatha Raisin mystery coming out this fall!
Rita Ingersoll says
I have had a week and a half off work for winter break and have been reading a kindle series that is so funny I was laughing out loud at the airport! It’s the Death by Chocolate series by Sally Berneathy. I am currently on book 5. Wonderful reading for the new year!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Rita, thanks for the recommendation! I’ll have to check that one out at some point, though my “to be read” pile is so long at this point that it will likely take quite some time.
Rughooker says
I read your recommended list for TV and Movies. I think I have watched about 80% on the list. You can catch many of the shows on PBS or Acorn TV. I work 10 hour days so when I get home from work I’m too tired to read. I love this blog, I have added many books from your recommendations to my Amazon list. I started reading Agatha Christie when I was much younger, moved on to Martha Grimes and Kate Kingsbury. Can’t wait to find the time for some of the new authors. Also a fan of Joanne Fluke, watched her stories on Hallmark.

Rughooker, I’m glad that the TV lists help you find a way to unwind after a long day’s work!
Juke says
I’m looking for some books I really enjoyed (can’t remember titles or author!) that featured a female caterer who had a professional refrigerator/freezer in her home kitchen. Also, she was constantly pouring herself espressos from an espresso machine in her kitchen. If anyone knows these books, I would love to find out.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Juke, sorry but this one isn’t ringing any bells! I’ll try to include it on a questions post at some point, and maybe someone else will be able to help.
C Phillips says
Could it be the Goldy Schulz series by Dianne Mott Davidson?
Danna - cozy mystery list says
C Phillips, I’m not sure. I read several culinary Cozy series but I don’t remember the constant espressos…
Joy S. says
I love reading and read when I should be doing other things. I’m old school and like the feel of a book in my hands, not in to electronic reading. That’s just me. LOL
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Joy, it’s always a good time to do some reading!
