This list is comprised of authors who are on the Cozy Mystery site who write mysteries that feature sleuths who are in the medical field, but aren’t your traditional “doctor, nurse, or midwife”. As you can see, these amateur sleuths’ professions are pretty varied.

You can’t very well have a sleuth who is a doctor without a great sleuth who is a nurse to accompany him/her. I wasn’t quite sure what to do with the sleuths who are midwives, since the list is so short. So, I decided to lump midwife sleuths in with the nurse sleuths.

A while ago I got a few requests for a theme that would include medical sleuths. I started the list way back then, but for some reason I got side-tracked with other things. Recently someone asked for a medical mysteries theme, which I have finally gotten organized. This list includes sleuths from the Cozy Mystery site who are doctors. (The next theme I will be posting will be sleuths who are nurses and midwives, followed by sleuths who are simply in the medical field, but are not primarily nurses, midwives, or physicians.)
