There are just a few more crafting cozy mystery series that I want to present, two of which are the Card Making Cozy Mystery Series and the Scrap Booking Cozy Mystery Series. It seems like our “real life” crafting trends make perfect background settings for some of our favorite cozy mystery series. Imagine Miss Marple without her knitting…. Well, now that scrap booking and card making have hit the local craft stores (big time!!!), I guess that it is no wonder that we have cozy mystery series that feature those arts.
Elizabeth Bright (aka Tim Myers) writes the Card Making Mystery Series that features Jennifer Shane, owner of Custom Card Creations. As Tim Myers, the same author writes the Candle Making Series, the Lighthouse Inn Series, and the Soap Making Mystery Series.
Mollie Cox Bryan pens the Cumberland Creek Mystery Series, which has a stay-at-home scrap booking mom as its sleuth.
Laura Childs writes the Scrap booking Mystery Series that revolves around Carmela Bertrand. Childs also writes the Theodosia Browning Charleston Tea Room Mystery Series.
Christina Freeburn writes the Faith Hunter Scrap This Mystery Series, starring the owner of a scrapbooking shop…
Lucy Lawrence (aka Jenn McKinlay) writes the Decoupage Mystery Series…
Joanna Campbell Slan pens the Kiki Lowenstein Scrap-n-Craft Mystery Series…
Terri Thayer writes the Stamping Sisters Mystery Series …

oooooh!!! Candlemaking mysteries!!! I worked in one candle factory for 4 years they were purchased by another company and I was production manager for them for 5 years until the company was sold and moved out of state. And they have these at my local library, I just reserved the first one. I’ve learned about SO many new authors from this blog, thank you!

Molly,
I’m so glad that you are getting ideas for new authors. That’s exactly why I started this website…. I needed new ideas about series.
Dianne says
I’ve just found your website. As an “old” retired elem teacher (taught reading for 14 yrs), I saw myself as I had a quick read of your site. I immediately learned that I needed lists. I took a Franklin Covey planner and started alphabetical lists of authors I liked, then added…and added. One of my favorite authors is Laura Childs. As a former scrapper (not manic as I was for a few yrs), I love her sb series. My favorite is her tea series, but am warming up to her newer Cackleberry series.
Love this site!
Dianne

Hi Dianne,
Welcome to the site! AND thank you for the kind words about it…
I have two desktop Microsoft Word lists of authors. One of them includes all of the authors I have actually tried reading. It has all of my favorite authors as well as my “YUCK*****” authors. (I find that if I don’t do that, I try reading the “YUCK*****” books again… I still don’t like them, and don’t make it past page 50, but life’s just not meant to be spent that way!)
My other Microsoft Word list of authors has all of my favorite authors with their chronological book lists, which I have to mark off right after I finish reading. (Again, if I don’t mark them down, I try reading them again >>> with that déjà vu sort of feeling going on in my mind…) I have a hard copy of this list as well. I’d be lost without all of these lists!

Do you know of any mystery books involving dairy goats and soap or cheese making?
Vicky
Susan says
I know this an old post / old query, but ‘The Case of the Ill-Gotten Goat’ by Claudia Bishop fits the goat-dairy and cheese-making categories! 🙂
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Thanks, Susan. As of yet, I don’t have either of those theme categories on the site, but I’ll keep this in mind just in case…

Vicky,
Soap making yes: Tim Myers.
Avery Aames: Cheese Shop Mystery Series (Sleuth owns a cheese shop.)
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Hi Vicky,
I just added Avery Aames to your Cheese Making Question…
Also, an interesting fact that I picked up when I was looking up information for the short blurb about Stephen Booth… He is an expert of … goats!
Patty says
Love this website. I am already reading several of the mentioned series, but see some that I will check out. I wish Terri Thayer and Elizabeth Bright/Tim Myers would continue their respective series.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Welcome to the Cozy Mystery website, Patty!
Rochelle says
Patty, unfortunately Terri Thayer’s publisher didn’t want anymore of that series 🙁 I face booked her to find out about that myself.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Rochelle, how very sad that Terri Thayer‘s publisher isn’t continuing with the Stamping Sisters Mystery Series, but how nice that Thayer’s Quilting Mystery Series is alive and well!
Patrizia says
Hi!
I’m Italian and I like scrapbooking mystery. Could I indicate the Faith Hunter Scrap This Mystery of Christina Freeburn? The second book will publish in september.
I’m sorry for my English: I can read it, but I have many problem to speak or write it.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Patrizia, thank you for telling us about Christina Freeburn’s Faith Hunter Scrap This Mystery Series. I see that Freeburn was a JAG (lawyer, or Judge Advocate General) before she started writing this scap booking mystery.
(Your English is terrific!)
