The Turner Classic Movies channel is beginning the month of May 2021 by showing movies that received Oscar nominations/wins. TCM has an interesting theme on May 5 which answers the question: how would you go about getting rid of a body? This is followed by several movies that take place in the court – I suppose trying to find out who got rid of the body that was “gotten rid of” by the culprit…
TCM will be showing several film noir movies on May 19 — which ought to be fun for a lot of us. And, as I mentioned, there will be court-themed movies as well. The court-themed movies will be aired on a few days of the month. I love it when the channel has theme days that are based on different types of mysteries.
The last three days of May the Turner Classic Movies channel will be airing Memorial Day-themed movies. I had no idea there were so many!

Thanks for this list. I found several movies I plan to watch. My favorite movie is Arsenic and Old Lace. If I’m feeling low or sad, I watch this movie and it perks me up right away.lol
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Dew, I’m glad that this list has been useful! Arsenic and Old Lace is a favorite of my own as well!
Donna McLean says
Thanks for sharing, Danna! Night Must Fall is one of my all time favorite films, it’s always worth watching. Actually, most of the films on this page are my favorite films, LOL. There are just soooo many good ones, especially for those of us who love mystery and suspense.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Donna, I’m glad that the list has been useful! It’s always nice when it’s possible to watch an old favorite – and TCM does seem to have so many of them!
Greenway says
Oh, gosh! If only the authors who crank out the same wearisome formulas would read your capsule plots and take inspiration!
Note: George Sanders & (bro) Tom Conway, in the Falcon Series, are not the only family members playing together: Sunday, May 30th’s THE CLAY PIGEON’s stars, Bill Williams (usually a cowboy) and Barbara Hale (forever Della Street), were married; William Katt (THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO, etc.) is their son. “Williams” was originally “Katt”. Any kindly usage of “cat” works well for a lot of us: Nothing cozier! Doggies, too!
