December will soon be upon us, so what better time for me to tell you about two new Cozy Mystery series that will make their debut during that month. These two new Cozy Mystery series are written by three authors with whom most of you are already very familiar. One of these authors is Duffy Brown, and the other two authors are the Lavenes: Joyce and Jim.
Duffy Brown will be releasing the first book in her second series, entitled Geared for the Grave. The Cycle Path Mystery Series will take place on lovely Mackinac Island. Our sleuth, Evie Bloomfield, works at Rudy’s Rides bike shop on the island, but quickly sees she’s going to have to be good at sleuthing in order to keep her employer out of jail. Some of you may be familiar with Brown’s Consignment Shop Mystery Series, starring Reagan Summerside, owner of Prissy Fox Consignment Shop. Brown’s debut series has already earned her plenty of fans – let’s hope her second sleuth, bike shop employee Evie Bloomfield, leaves just as strong an impression!
The other new series beginning in December will be released by Joyce and Jim Lavene. This will be their seventh (or eighth?) series >>> and that’s only including the books they’ve written under the Lavene name, not the ones they’ve also written as J.J. Cook and Ellie Grant! Titled Spell Booked, this book will begin the Retired Witches Mystery Series starring Molly and Elsie, operators of a curio shop who are also (you guessed it!) retired witches who sometimes solve crimes.

I’m usually not into “paranormal” but love the Lavene’s series so far & so looking forward to this new one too!

Stash, when the paranormal Cozies started becoming popular, I held off trying them. I’m glad I finally gave them a try. I have found a few authors who I enjoy in that genre.

Danna, I discovered a ‘ new-to-me’ series this past week called ” A Library Lover’s Mystery” by Jenn McKinlay. This series is set near the ocean in a small town in Connecticut with our main sleuth being the director of the public library.
I started the series with the second book of the series ” Due Or Die” then found 3 other books in the series. I am on ” Read and Weep now. I will try to find the 5th book as soon as I can. I have really enjoyed this series.
When I went to my local library and discovered I could get the other 3 copies of this series all at the same time I told the librarian at the desk that day how much I was enjoying this series..
What I liked about the series was that the series was set on an ocean coastline, with librarian dropping names of various authors that I know and enjoy. I have been able to figure out early on who dunnit but that’s okay. There’s nothing wrong with that sometimes.
What sort of stymies me is the fact that I never realized that working in a library could be such a hazard to someones’ health!!!
This librarian says she sure hopes her library isn’t a hazard to her health!!!!

Linda C, and a great thing about enjoying Jenn McKinlay‘s series is that she also writes series under the Josie Belle and Lucy Lawrence names!
