November will be a fairly good month for Cozies by site authors, though not as good as this month – “only” two new series by established authors and two holiday-themed Cozies, both Christmas!
The first new series release will be the Woman of WWII Mystery Series, a period piece by Tessa Arlen set during the second World War. It’s 1942, three years into the war, and Poppy Redfern’s family home and farm have been requisitioned by the War Office as an airfield for the American Air Force, and Poppy keeps her days and nights busy serving as the village’s Air Raid Warden. Tensions between the locals and the American servicemen are already running high – even before two young women who were dating Americans are found dead. With local manpower at a low point, Poppy decides she needs to start her own investigation to keep the peace between the two allied nations. Tessa Arlen is also the author of the Lady Montfort Mystery Series, another period piece, this one set in Edwardian England.
The other new series will be Sally Chapman‘s Agatha’s Amish B&B Mystery Series, which will start with Dead Wrong. Fifty-five year old widow Agatha Lapp is staring a new phrase in her life, relocating to a newly established Amish Community in Hunt, Texas, to make a success of her recently deceased brother’s dream – to start an Amish bed and breakfast. The dream seems to be off to a bad start, as she discovers the body of a visitor in one of her guest cabins. The police think the death was natural causes, but Agatha and her neighbor Tony Vargas, a retired detective, think otherwise. Sally Chapman is also the author of the Silicon Valley Mystery Series and (as Annie Griffin) the Hannah & Kiki Mystery Series.
The first of the Christmas Cozies will be Upon the Midnight Clear, a short story entry featured in Tasha Alexander‘s Lady Emily Mystery Series. Lady Emily is preparing for Christmas with her family with a few days in the city when her son is given a Christmas cracker with a cryptic clue within it. Shortly after, she’s approached by another stranger who pleads for her help finding his long-lost daughter, who he believes to be somewhere in the city – and more mysterious crackers continue to arrive to help her on her investigation.
The other Christmas Cozy will be An Ale of Two Cities, the second story in Sarah Fox‘s Literary Pub Mystery Series. Christmas in Shady Creek, Vermont, is always an influx of tourist cash, with the town’s picturesque Winter Carnival featuring a wide variety of attractions. One such is the return of the town’s former resident, celebrity chef Freddy Mancini, who arrives to show off his ice-sculpting skills… until he turns up dead with a pick in his chest! Sarah Fox is also the author of the Pancake House Mystery Series and the Music Lover’s Mystery Series.

What a relief! Not a single one of my must by authors on the list today.
Danna, thanks for all your work keeping us up-to-date on the cozy mystery offerings.

Susy, you’re very welcome!

These books sound interesting. Are they going to make movies? Another network should besides Hallmark. I’m fed up with them, they start too early with Christmas movies.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Janie, I don’t know – it’s possible, I suppose. Every so often British channels will pick up a mystery series or two and make a limited run.

Taking a rest this month, it appears. And a good time for it, since I do MOST of my Christmas shopping in October. You can do that when there are no small children changing their minds every five minutes!

Bek, it isn’t a bad time for a break, that’s for sure! Saving a bit around the holiday season is certainly a good thing.

Bek, I am trying to take a break, but there are SOOOO many books I want….

Sing it, Sister! But at least I didn’t ADD to the list, this time!
