Maddie Day (aka Edith Maxwell & Tace Baker): Murder in a Cape Cottage (This will be the 4th in the Cozy Capers Book Group Mystery Series.)
Sally Goldenbaum: A Dark and Snowy Night (This will be the 5th in the Seaside Knitters Society Mystery Series.)

Good morning. I had never heard of cozy mysteries until I watched a YouTube video of someone I follow who spoke of them. I had to look the term up and I am so surprised by this genre. So for a beginner reader of cozies as you call it, where should I begin? I’m the type that loves a good psychological thriller and mysteries but as I get older I don’t want all the descriptive sex scenes or gore. Does that make me sound sad? I’m tempted to read the Nancy drew series over again haha. I would love some feed back please if anything would help me keep my love of reading! Thank you so much!

Dana, I have to admit, I am a big fan of “the classics” – I’d recommend trying Agatha Christie first. And I wouldn’t say it’s as all sad to avoid more graphic material – sometimes what people need most is just something to unwind and relax! Cozies can be a great mix of that with some mystery to keep the mind engaged.

I love the Book Retreat series and have been waiting impatiently for this book to come out. I also really like the Edith Maxwell series.
