Allie Pleiter is a knitter, harp player, and mother of several, and also has a BS in Speech from Northwestern University. In her career as an author she is a prolific author in the “clean” and religious romance genre. In the mystery genre, she’s the author of the Riverbank Knitting Mystery Series, starring a yarn shop owner in Maryland.
Sherry Thomas has written several romance and non-mystery paranormal series, several of which are award winners in their own genre. She is a first generation Chinese-American, having come to America at the age of 13, and English is her second language. Her mystery series is the Lady Sherlock Mystery Series, which stars a Sherlock Holmes reimagined as a woman.
I know that June is traditionally thought of as the “wedding month” – however, I think that June 27 should be thought of as the “mystery authors’ day on TV” – at least at the Turner Classic Movies channel. Yow-za! On the 27th of June, Turner Classic Movies will be airing mystery movies based on Erle Stanley Gardner‘s Perry Mason, Stuart Palmer‘s Hildegarde Withers, Leslie Charteris‘s The Saint, S. S. Van Dine‘s Philo Vance, Dorothy L. Sayers‘s Lord Peter Wimsey, Baynard H. Kendrick‘s Duncan Maclain, Agatha Christie‘s Miss Marple, and Dashiell Hammett‘s the Thin Man! So, be sure to take a look at the line-up… And, if you feel like you’re all mysteried-out after that marathon of mystery movies, try to save some “viewing room” for even more mystery movies on Wednesday, June 28.
Thank you, Turner Classic Movies, for featuring a whole lot of the mystery movies during June 2023!
