Two New Mystery Series by Cozy Mystery Authors Coming December 2016

November 9, 2016

We will have two new Cozy Mystery series coming out in December by authors on the site!

The first will be Karen Harper‘s South Shores Mystery Series, which will be beginning with Chasing Shadows. This series will star Claire Britten, a forensic psychologist with a neurological disorder, and Nick Markwood, a lawyer who recruits her to help investigate unusual cases on the south shores of Florida. Karen Harper also writes the Home Valley Amish Mystery Series, the Maplecreek Amish Trilogy, the Elizabeth I Mysteries, and the Cold Creek Mystery Series.

The other will be Molly MacRae‘s Highland Bookshop Mystery Series, which will have its first entry, Plaid and Plagiarism. When Janet Marsh decided to become a co-owner of Yon Bonnie Books, a small bookshop in Inversgail, Scotland, she didn’t realize that she would also need to be an investigator. But when she tries to move into her new house, she finds that the house has been vandalized – and that a body has been left in her gardening shed! Unfortunately there are suspects a-plenty, as the victim wasn’t particularly well loved about town – and the suspects include Janet’s ex-husband as well. Molly MacRae also writes the Haunted Yarn Shop Mystery Series.

If you’re looking for other great new Cozy Mystery Series >>> these series and more can be found on the New Cozy Mystery Book Series page, or even more upcoming Cozies if you are looking for a continuation of a favorite series on the Soon to Be Released Mysteries page of my Cozy-Mystery site.

ID Channel’s Nightmare Next Door with Diane Vallere

November 5, 2016

tv1111111111sphjsjhI think I may have mentioned (once or twice…) that I like true crime shows. (I don’t watch all of them – that would be a 24/7 hobby!) As I watch the shows I find myself in a state of disbelief that these are true crimes – not fiction TV. I can’t help but imagine how these awful, cruel things can be carried out by people. The results are so profound and permanent for the victims, and their family and friends >>> whose lives will never be the same. I often find myself wondering how stupid and self-aggrandizing these terrible animals are. When I hear a person say these killers are “sick” I usually find myself actually talking back to the TV. Sick is NO excuse for their actions! (OK, now I’ll get off my soapbox and get to why I am telling you about a show I just watched…) The particular show I’m telling you about is very sad and totally senseless. (Let’s face it, all of the cases they highlight are senseless!)

One of the shows I watch on the ID (Investigation Discovery) channel is Nightmare Next Door. Well, while I was watching last night’s episode (“A Strange Trust” – season 6, episode 10), I couldn’t believe it when one of my favorite authors appeared as one of the commentators of the crime. That’s right! One of our Cozy Mystery authors was on the show giving background information!

So, for those of you who have access to the ID channel, be sure to set your DVRs up in order to see none other than Diane Vallere, author of the Style & Error, Material Witness, Costume Shop, & Mad for Mod (one of my very favorite) mystery series. The next showing of this particular show is Sunday, November 13 at 1 PM (central).

Two New Cozy Mystery Holiday Books Coming December 2016

November 4, 2016

We can look forward to a festive December this year, with three new Cozy Mysteries releasing with different holiday themes – both focused on Christmas, naturally!

The first release will be Susan Sleeman‘s Christmas Conspiracy, the 6th in the First Responders Mystery Series. When a kidnapping attempt of a child at Rachel Long’s day care center is foiled by first responder Jake Marsh, Rachel accidentally discovers the identity of the would-be-kidnapper. Now she needs Jake’s protection through the holiday season, as the attacker turns his attention to her! As this is part of the “Love Inspired Suspense”, readers can rest assured that it will be a romantic mystery that is clean enough for everyone to enjoy! Susan Sleeman also writes the Agents Under Fire Mystery Series and the Justice Agency Mystery Series.

The other December Christmas Cozy will be Amanda Lee‘s Better Off Thread, which will be the the 10th in the Embroidery Mystery Series. Embroidery shop owner Marcy Singer is enjoying her holiday season by volunteering as an elf at the local hospital when tragedy strikes and the hospital director is discovered murdered. Marcy will need to act fast to protect her friend, Captain Moe, who is accused of the crime. Amanda Lee also writes the Daphne Martin Cake Mystery Series and the Myrtle Crumb Mystery Series as Gayle Trent and the Down South Cafe Mystery Series as Gayle Leeson.

Of course, if you want to see more Christmas themed Cozies, be sure to check out the pages devoted to them on my site:
