One New Cozy Holiday and One New Cozy Mystery Series Coming February 2018

February will have a bit of good news, with one new Cozy Mystery Series starting by an established site author and a holiday-themed Cozy Mystery scheduled for release.

First, the holiday release will be a Thanksgiving-themed entry in Joanne Fluke‘s Hannah Swensen Mystery Series, Raspberry Danish Murder. Hannah isn’t really looking forward to Thanksgiving, considering the recent disappearance of her new husband, Ross. Still, she’s determined to make the best of it – at least, she is until Ross’s assistant is killed in a fatal car crash, while driving Ross’s car! Was Ross the target of an attack, was this a simple accident, or was the assistant the true target? As always, this entry should include a delicious recipe for the named treat in the title!

Next up, Krista Davis will be starting the Pen & Ink Mystery Series with its debut novel, Color Me Murder. Florrie Fox is the manager of the Color Me Read bookstore in Georgetown, Washington D.C. Florrie has been offered rent-free space in prime real estate area by her boss, solely so his unpleasant relatives are unable to move in themselves and make his life less pleasant. But the deal suddenly seems less appealing when one of these relatives turns up dead behind a trap door in the bookstore. Krista Davis also writes the Domestic Diva Mystery Series and the Paws & Claws Mystery Series.

Sue Grafton Will be Missed by Many

As much as I hate giving this sort of news at the end or beginning of a year, I must sadly address that Sue Grafton, the author of the Kinsey Millhone Alphabet Mystery Series, passed away on December 28, 2017, at the age of 77. Her works were very influential to all aspects of the mystery genre, and her loss will be felt by many.

Rest In Peace, Sue. Our sympathies go out to Sue’s family and friends.

Well, it’s just a little late, but I wanted to wish you all a very happy New Year!

We’re enjoying the last few days of my daughter visiting, so I’ve still been a bit busy today!

Does anyone have any New Year’s resolutions they want to share? I’m afraid that this year I’m not feeling particularly motivated – though I do hope to read at least a few more Cozies per month than I managed last year!
