New Releases – January 6 to January 12, 2020

Here is the list of new releases for January 6 to January 12!

Tasha Alexander: In the Shadow of Vesuvius (This will be the 14th in the Lady Emily Mystery Series.)

Vicki Delany (aka Eva Gates): There’s a Murder Afoot (This will be the 5th in the Sherlock Holmes Bookshop Mystery Series.)

Tim Dorsey: Naked Came the Florida Man (This will be the 23rd in the Serge Storms Mystery Series.)

Victoria Gilbert: Bound for Murder (This will be the 4th in the Blue Ridge Library Mystery Series.)

Iris Johansen: Hindsight (This will be a stand-alone thriller.)

Marion Chesney Gibbons (aka M.C. Beaton) Will Be Missed By Many

It feels like every year there are a few sad deaths to mention after the holiday season… this year, we all will miss Marion Chesney Gibbons, likely better known here as M.C. Beaton. According to a brief entry on her website, Marion Chesney Gibbons passed away after a brief illness in late December, at the age of 83.

A very prolific romance author in the 1980’s and 1990’s under the name Marion Chesney, under the Beaton name she eventually moved to releasing more and more mysteries in both the Hamish Macbeth Mystery Series and the Agatha Raisin Mystery Series. One of the shapers of the modern Cozy sub-genre, she will be missed by the community and remembered for her many beautiful stories.

Rest in Peace, Marion. Our sympathies go out to Marion’s family and friends.

New Releases – December 30, 2019, to January 5, 2020

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel Cozy Mystery Movies – January 2020

Happy New Year 2020! It’s time to resume my blog entry of the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel lineup of upcoming mystery movies. It looks like Hallmark M & M is going to continue showing reruns of their Christmas movies until Sunday the fifth, when they will be showing some Magnum P.I. reruns starting at 9:00 PM. The channel will continue showing the Magnum P.I. reruns until Monday at 10:00 PM when they will show reruns of Murder, She Wrote. Tuesday the seventh they will go back to their normal pre-Christmas schedule, which will include reruns of shows like Hart to Hart, Columbo, Diagnosis Murder, and Matlock. In turn, I’ll go back to listing the Cozy Mystery movies they will be showing.
