Marivale says
Sad but I will be waiting to buy all those I’m interested in until the prices come down. $12.99 for an ebook is unjustifiable in my opinion.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Marivale, it can be a bit expensive. Unfortunately the pricing is set by the publishers, and they don’t like to undercut their own paperback sales.
Melanie says
“Poisoned Pages”, “The Spook in the Stacks” and “A Souffle of Suspicion” are on my wish list.
The new Deadly Edits Mystery Series and World if Spies Mystery Series both sound interesting. I may have to add them to my constantly growing wish list as well.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Melanie, it certainly looks like a good crop! I hope that the new series prove as strong as their authors would suggest.
Susy S says
Melanie, I just started reading Eva Gates last week. I have added spook in the stacks to my wish list and I already purchased two others. I have read some of Lorna Barrett’s books, though I don’t find myself seeking them out. I think I am going to have to try Daryl Wood Gerber as those who like what I do seem to also like her.
Melanie says
The Lighthouse Library series is on my wish list…I haven’t read them yet. Do you like what you’ve read of them so far?
I have “A Deadly Éclair” on my TBR pile…I’m hoping to read it before “A Souffle of Suspicion” is released (or soon after).
Susy S says
Absolutely. I will be starting the second book in the series soon, but I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself. The third book in the series is at my vacation house and I won’t be there again until mid-April.
Bek says
OH COME ON, DANNA! This month you’ve introduced me to not one but THREE serieseseseseses ~slaps self~ which I MUST HAVE! The Lighthouse Library series, because I live just minutes away from the ferry to the Outer Banks, The Sherlock Holmes Bookshop series, because of Moriarty (of course), AND the Liss MacCrimmon series, because I’m almost full Scots.
I suppose I COULD get rid of the dining table and fit another 7 or 8 bookcases in my tiny dining room…
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Bek, I know, choosing which to read first will be a real challenge as well! Well, it’s a better problem to have than not enough series that you’re interested in reading, I suppose…
Susy S says
Bek, Have you considered just moving into a warehouse and defining space with the placement of book cases? My hubby wants to build a much bigger house when we retire that is mostly just space for a lot more books (and his pool table), so it would basically be one big building with a few rooms and the rest of the space is defined by half walls and book cases.
PamB says
The book cover for ‘Crime & Punctuation’ is the best!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
PamB, I agree, it’s an interesting look to have a smaller picture “framed” by the book spines like that.
Pam says
I am so glad to see the Eva Gates series continue! I am reading Reading Up a Storm now.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Pam, I’m glad to give you good news!
Margaret StashEmpress says
Oh good — a new Liss MacCrimmon!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Margaret, as always I’m glad to pass on good news!
Glen says
I am glad to know I am not the only person who keeps cramming in book shelves. And who wants a house that is, say, three rooms..bed, kitchen/living/dining, bath, and books. With high ceilings, and a rolling ladder. and short shelved in the middle. I wonder if it would be enough shelves…..
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Glen, I have to admit, the whole storage issue is one of the reasons I ended up switching to Kindles! (Another being font size… bigger fonts are better for me these days!)
Susy S says
Danna, funny you should say that. I have the kindle app on several devices and my sister loaned me a Kindle that is supposed to be better for your eyes, but I find paper is MUCH easier on my eyes. Amazing how different each of us is, and yet we all love our books, regardless of form.
Susy S says
Love it! I am thinking loft style with a corner kitchen with dining bar (don’t want to waste space on a table) and a good vent fan to remove odors before they can get into the books. Near that would be a ‘living’ area with several comfy chairs and/or sofas. I would use several 6 or 7 foot bookcases to hide a sleeping area and the rest would all be books with maybe a few chairs in quiet little corners.
AHHH! The good life!
