Sujata Massey: The Bombay Prince (This will be the 3rd in the Mysteries of 1920s India Mystery Series.)

My series of choice this month was Maggie Sefton and her knitting mysteries with Kelly and the gang and Leslie Budewicz Seattle Spice series with Pepper et all. Both very good and entertaining with recipies in the back to try.
I love foodie mysteries with recipes. Laura Childs also
puts recipes in both her Cackleberry and Tea Shop series.
Both of her series are clear winners as well.

Hey…I just thought I’d drop in here (finally!) ’cause I’m reading a series that I really, truly like. It’s the Mystery Bookshop series by V.M. Burns. I’m currently reading Book 5 (of 7) and have enjoyed each one more than the book before! Telling two mysteries at once — the “real-time” murder and the murder that takes place in the historical cozy series set in 1938 England our narrator is writing, Ms. Burns is convincingly able to write in two distinct voices and in two distinct languages. Only a true Brit would refer to the contraption as a “motorcar” in the England of 1938! As many of these types of books as I have read in the past 5 years — and trust me, they number in the hundreds! — Ms. Burns in the first author and the Mystery Bookshop series is the first series I’ve felt compelled to comment on. (There are a heckuva lot more authors and series I do enjoy, but many of those authors are bigbigbig and don’t necessarily need comments from this lowly somedaywillbe!)
