No Grater Danger, a new book in Victoria Hamilton’s Vintage Kitchen Series is being released tomorrow. It only showed up as a recommendation from Amazon on Saturday so it didn’t seem to have much advance advertising.

Janice G, thank you so much for mentioning this new Victoria Hamilton Vintage Kitchen mystery (No Grater Danger). I just added it to all the lists it needed to be added to. Thanks, again!

I had not seen that book listed anywhere before. Since leave it to cleaver was an e-book, then a print on demand, I suspect that the publisher is not promoting them.
I hate when they do that!

Being very, very careful, I just added Agatha Frost and Lena Gregory to my “maybe” list. AND I can get each series’ first book in ebook format, so I’ll know if I want them on my shelves. THAT’S something I hadn’t even thought of, which tells you how old I am!

Bek, I’ve found that Kindles can be a huge space saver. Buying the first on Kindle, then picking it up in paperback later seems like a good compromise if the Kindle is a lot cheaper.

Oh, spit. The “Vintage Kitchen” series has vintage recipes…here we go again!

Bek, I know the recipes are always popular – thanks for mentioning it!

Sorry I didn’t warn you.
I’m not likely to make any of them, but they do take me back to summer with my grandmothers. They lived a few doors apart on the same street so I would spend the summer with both of them and sleep at whichever house is was when I got tired. I am sure it made it easier for both of them as well since they would not have an active and inquisitive kid on their hands all the time. I have long suspected that my parents sent me to them to get away from my constant ‘why’ and ‘how does that work’, but it was wonderful for me too as it was the only time I had adult attention all to myself.

I am looking forward to exploring the books and the recipes! I still have my great-grandmother’s hand-written recipe for minced meat. Not likely to make it, but love having it. I also have a good bit of her cast iron, so perhaps I’ll think about breaking them out and going full-on vintage at some point!

I just picked up a new book from the library, Cake and Punishment by Maymee Bell but it appears to have been written by Tonya Kappes. The page “also available” lists numerous series by Kappes

Janice, hmm, thanks! I’ll have to look into that.
