Oh Boy another Mrs Jeffries to add to my collection and number 32 in the series will be coming out in November
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Alfred, every time I see a new Mrs. Jeffries mystery on the New Releases lists, I think of you!
Sheila says
Looking forward to Victoria Thompson’s Murder on Chelsea. There is a teaser about Frank and Sarah’s relationship. Can’t wait to read the book and find out what it is. I’m also a fan of Emily Brightwell’s Mrs Jeffries series and can’t wait for #31. Thank heavens I have extra storage room on my “Nook”.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Sheila, looks like there are a couple Mrs. Jeffries fans here!
Patti S. says
I am so glad to see another book by Karen MacInerney of The Gray Whale Inn Mysteries. This is such a good series. Lots of good books to look forward to. Thanks for the list, Danna. It is much appreciated.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Patti S, since it has been three years since Karen MacInerney’s last Gray Whale Inn mysteries, I was pleasantly surprised to see her on this May 2013 releases list.

Thank you for the new May list. Always find authors I have never read before. I just finished Killer Honeymoon by G A Mckevett. Love the characters. I also just read Gone Missing by Linda Castillo. If you have not read any of her Kate Burkholder Amish series you should really take a look.
JMW
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Jerry, thanks for the heads-up about G. A. McKevett’s Killer Honeymoon and Linda Castillo’s Gone Missing.
SEWH says
Thank you so much for your list each month. I can’t wait for the new email at the beginning of the month with the new books that are coming out! Thanks!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
SEWH, you’re welcome. I’m glad you are enjoying the monthly new mystery book releases.
KCJ says
Thanks for doing this. I watch for it each month. Elaine Viets is one of my favorites and I love being able to preorder them on Amazon for my kindle. I read on your site that you had trouble getting into the Kindle, as did I. However, now I wouldn’t use anything else.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
KCJ, I know what you mean! I LOVE it when one of my favorite authors has a book on one of the monthly new mystery book release list. (I’m like you >>> I only read books on my Kindle now. I love being able to control the font sizes, and having my “library” on it.)
Julia says
I already have the Carolyn Hart pre-ordered for my Kindle, but I’m happy to see a new Emily Brightwell coming out (I love the Mrs. Jeffries’ mysteries). I’m also thinking now might be the time to give Fiona Buckley a try; when I linked over to the Amazon website to check out the newest one I also perused the descriptions of some of the older ones. I’m not a fan of Elizabeth I, but I do enjoy a good historical mystery.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Julia, I think historical mystery books are becoming very popular. The Agatha Awards just started the Best Historical Novel award.
Sharon says
I second all those who look forward to this monthly posting, as well as the blog in general. Add me to the list of enjoying historical novels. But, usually more “period” rather than ancient history.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Sharon, I’m so glad you enjoy both the monthly mystery book new releases posts, as well as the blog. I think we have a great bunch of people who participate here!
Wendy Y says
I wondered if you were going to add “Call the Midwife”to your TV and Movie page? It’s a very good show about Midwives and Nuns working in the East End of London during the 50’s. While its not a mystery series I think it would appeal to lots of folks who use this site. The show is based on books written by Jennifer Worth. I have been watching season 2 on PBS here in the Denver area on Sundays, season 1 is available on DVD. Please don’t be put off by the warring at the beginning of the show, after all the stories do revolve around pregnancy, births and poverty. The show is very uplifting and tasteful!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Great idea, Wendy Y. My husband and I were able to play catch-up with the Call the Midwife shows, and now we look forward to seeing them on our PBS station. (Since they didn’t air them as a Masterpiece show, our method of recording didn’t catch them for us last year.)
Violette says
I have been waiting for ages for Gary Corby to publish another book in his ancient Greece series. Glad to hear a book is coming next month.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Violette, too bad you aren’t a fan of someone like James Patterson. You wouldn’t have to wait very long between books!
Janice says
So many books, so little time to read them! BUT they are on my Kindle when I do have time. Thanks for this site and all the great information. I have found so many new authors to enjoy. I wish all of them were on an e reader format. Some early works in a series are not, and it seems I came in at the middle of something.
Well, I have 1000 + unread books on my Kindle, so I best quit complaining about what I don’t have, and enjoy what I do have!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Janice, while writing a comment just now, I found myself focusing on my favorite authors’ who haven’t yet been converted to Kindle format. I really should take your advice!

My wife and I just finished Stuart Woods new book Unintended Consequences, It was one of his best
JMW
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Jerry, thanks for the Stuart Woods tip.
Jerry says
I also just finished To Love and to Perish The fourth book in the Broken Vows Mystery series by Lisa Bork. Nice cozy series
Bev S says
It appears that the Annie’s Attic Mystery series is coming to an end…I’ve read a couple of places that there will be only thirty books in the series. Don’t know if this is correct or not, but there is a new series “The Creative Woman” series and published by Annie’s Attic. I have the first book in the series “Strands of Fate” by Linda Kozar. This series is set in Apple Grove, Oregon and has the lead character, Shannon McClain and the members of the Purls of Hope Knitting Club unravelling mysteries. Like the original Annie’s Attic series these books are published every six weeks or so…not sure if they are written by various authors…but will be interesting to see how this series “unravels”.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Bev, I’ve just made a note of the Purls of Hope Knitting Club, and I’ll try to get a page up for the new series when I get home. Thanks for the information. It sounds like it will be a fun series.
Jerry says
If you really want a great book to read Andrew Gross who sometimes writes with James Patterson has a new one out called No Way Back. It took me 2 days. Could not put it down. I want to thank Danna and everyone else for the series recommendations.
JMW
Danna - cozy mystery list says
And, thank you, Jerry, for telling us ab how good Andrew Gross’ No Way Back is!

Thank you for the new listings in advance. I am a library addict and having the new releases I can reserve them earlier than others or reserve on my nook. I also am able to follow series in order. Its wonderful.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Welcome to the Cozy Mystery site, faithm! There are a lot of readers here who do exactly what you are planning to do with the Mystery Book New Releases. I’m glad to here the lists will help you.

I am also a library addict. Between my wife and myself I have 30 books on reserve that are coming out later this year. Half of them are authors Danna told us about. It is a great website. I just finished the 5th of Linda Castillo’s amish murder mystery books. Just not in the right order. It doesn’t matter. You can not put them down
Danna - cozy mystery list says
It’s a good thing you’re “a library addict”, Jerry! It seems like you read a lot more mysteries each month than I do.
Pamela L says
Thanks for all your hard work!!!!!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
You’re quite welcome, Pamela L!

Searching the library shelves I found a book by Deborah Sharp “Mama Does Time”. A very good cozy. She has five books so far. My mother in law and my wife just finished Whiskey Beach by Nora Roberts. They said it was very good.

A Few weeks ago when I was browsing on Amazon, I saw where Jessica Beck had started a new series called
“GHOST CAT MIDNIGHT PAWS” BOOK !
THE GHOST CAT COZY MYSTERIES” It sounded interesting…..so I ordered it & I really did enjoy it…..She also writes the Donut Shop Mystery series. I was hooked almost right away and finished it this afternoon. grin.
When Christy Blake loses one of her two cats MIDNIGHT and her boss in what looks like a robbery attempt at her secondhand shop, Memories and Dreams,.
But Midnight isn’t ready to go anywhere just yet. So he comes back as a ghost to help her track down the killer of her boss and Midnight her Cat……..I loved it……I hope she writes more. smile.

Grannyfrye, I know a lot of people were happy when Jessica Beck came out with a new mystery series. I don’t know where she manages to find all of that time to write!

Danna, I HAVE GOT TO put down my crocheting and start REALLY reading again!! I am so far behind. I have been of late just reading before bed and then mostly my favorites. May looks like a great month for reading favorites, but then so did Feb, March and April!!
It’s a good thing that you keep the list of new releases on your blog. I will get to these books. Just now am having a great time learning to do something productive after so many years of just wishing that I had something else to do besides read and clean house.
I am glad you and your hubby had a great California vacation. I would like to see California sometime. I would love to tour the old Spanish Missions. Or, I am hoping there are still old Spanish Missions to visit. I like the historical tourist sights at just about any place I go. My hubby gets bored easily with me though because I like to read the historical placards and this does take time. I know it isn’t in California but someday I would also love to visit the misson at St. Augustine in Florida.
We have been saving so that we can visit my brother in Colorado Springs this summer sometime. There is so much that I want to see but I have to remember that the main reason for our visit will be to catch up with my brother and his daughter and her family. I haven’t seen her children since they were very small and the oldest one is graduating from highschool this year.
Oh but to see the Rocky Mountains with snow on the tops!! Can’t wait.
I have been downloading several books onto my Kindle for keeping me company on our trip to Colorado. My hubby’s driving drives me nuts! So I read while he drives.
He says driving me nuts results in a very short walk!!
Donna V says
I am also reading the Annie Attic series and also the Creative Woman series and thoroughly enjoy both. If you like this type of series Guideposts also has mystery series. There is Secrets of Mary’s Bookstore, Miracle of Marble Cove which are both great and a new one starting in June called Secrerts of the Blue Hill Library. You can go to Guideposts.org to find them.

Love this site.
Just wanted to mention a new author I found named Liz Mugavero. Her first book just came out this month called “Kneading to Die” its part of the “Pawsitively Organic Mysteries.” Its similar to Allergic to Death by Peg Cochran.
Anyways thought I would mention it, its a really good book!
Thanks for all the work you do on this site, its definitely my go-to site to find new books 🙂
