Deborah Crombie is my favorite author, and has a book coming out this month. Her series is not cozy, but somewhat similar to Louise Penny’s. Thanks for your site!! izzy

I read a police procedural about an Irishman working for the Met, 1940;s perhaps, and he is a sad sack living alone, there’s a woman policeman who’s his sergeant? I loved the book, didn’t follow it up, and now I can;t for the life of me remember the author, the character’s name or the title . . . does this ring any bells at all?
