Oh my gosh! Pardon me as if I gush, but I just posted my Lorraine Bartlett / Lorna Barrett / L.L. Bartlett interview. I have got to tell you, every time I do an interview with a Cozy Mystery author, I am happily surprised by how nice they are, and how gracious they are with their time.
Lorraine Bartlett writes the Victoria Square Mystery Series. This series features Katie Bonner, a young widow who is an artisan co-op member. Lorna Barrett pens the Booktown Mystery Series, and stars Tricia Miles, owner of the Haven’t Got a Clue Mystery bookstore. (In a nod to classic Cozies, Miss Marple is not only a character in some of the bookstore’s shelves, she’s also the name of Tricia’s cat.) And, as L.L. Bartlett she writes the Jeff Resnick Mystery Series. Jeff is an insurance investigator who, after being mugged, developed a “sixth sense” which helps him solve mysteries.
I hope you ALL enjoy this Lorraine Bartlett/Lorna Barrett/L.L. Bartlett Interview. Go fix yourself a cup of tea, click on the highlighted link, sit back, and enjoy what this very popular Cozy Mystery author has to say! I think you’ll find it interesting!
P.S. Since two Cozy Mystery readers have just told me about these great prices for L.L. Bartlett’s Kindle books right now, I thought I would go ahead and add them to this entry.

Jackie J. Griffey says
Deb, Danna and all fellow readers and writers, I really enjoyed the interview with Lorraine Bartlett. Have read books in all her series and enjoyed them. She’ a wonderful cozy writer, thanks again for interview.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Jackie, thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Deb, thank you. I’m always skeptical about asking best-selling authors to give up their time to answer my questions, and am always grateful when they do!
Stephanie says
I’m excited to see another interview!
It’s so wonderful that Lorraine Bartlett took the time to give us a glimpse at her creative process.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Stephanie, I totally agree with you about giving up her time. I love to find out about their days, and how they find the time to write so many good mysteries…
Stash Empress says
Thanks for the great interview, very interesting reading! I love the Victoria Square series, wish there were more of them. Been meaning to read the Booktown series, but never got to them yet. The other series is just not my speed.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Stash Empress, thanks! You ought to move Lorna Barrett’s Booktown Mystery Series up on your TBR pile!
Stash Empress says
Danna — right now I need a *ladder* (think cherry picker!) to get reach the top of my TBR pile!
😉
Anne says
Great interview. You asked every question I wish interviewers everywhere would ask. Thank you for all you do for us!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Anne, I’m glad you enjoyed the interview.
Martine says
Interesting what her writing process is. Most authors seem to write in the morning, but she is just the opposite.
I really like the interview feature on the site. Please keep them coming!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Martine, I thought that was really interesting, also. Also, I enjoyed hearing about how she was able to let Dark Waters sort of just flow out of her. To be able to just sit down and let a book sort of dictate itself must by a real gift.
Jackie J. Griffey says
Funny the things we cozy writers have in common LOL! In my current Work in Progress, here in No. 4 of the series a sort of minor character comes out and has a lot of adventures and action, I’m enjoying writing it as much as the character is ‘living’ it LOL.
Happy reading and writing to all of us,
Jackie
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Jackie, I think it’s really neat to hear that characters sort of have lives of their own.
Donna says
Great interview and one of my favorite cozy mystery writers. I have read two of her series and love them both. Wasn’t aware of the third one so I’ll have to give it a try.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Donna, I’m glad you enjoyed her interview, and am also happy that you discovered the Jeff Resnick series. (I’m just guessing that’s the one you were unaware of…)
Linda says
Hi Danna, I enjoyed reading this interview. I am a fan of
Ms. Bartlett’s work–have read the Victoria Square and Booktown Mysteries. Looking forward to your next interview.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Linda, I enjoyed the interview, also. I’m going to have to get going on my next one!
Karen L. says
The Jeff Resnick Mysteries Volume I (Murder On The Mind and Dead In Red) [Kindle Edition] is available on Amazon for 99 cents.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Karen L, thank you! I’m in the middle of getting my July Cheap Kindle (& Nook) Mystery Books together right now. I’m hoping to get it up in the next few days.
Thanks, again!
Stash Empress says
I noticed today on Amazon, the first two Jeff Resnick books (together) in Kindle format for 99 cents for the set.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Stash Empress, thank you! I’ll go add them to this entry, and I will also be adding them to the July Cheap Kindle entry.
Donna Mc says
Fascinating review, Danna! She sounds like an interesting person, and I liked the insights into her life as a novelist.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Donna Mc, she is interesting, isn’t she?
Marla says
What’s really cool (at least for me) is that all the Jeff Resnick books are set in the Buffalo, NY area, where I live. It is always startling to read names of streets and towns that you can visualize exactly where the characters are located – like Bartlett GPS!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Marla, that would be really cool!
