Laura DiSilverio’s Readaholics Book Club Mysteries & Vineyard Quilt Mysteries: Two New Cozy Series Coming April 2015!

March 3, 2015

Looks like we’ll be looking forward to the first releases for two NEW Cozy Mystery series coming out in April 2015!

First up will be the first entry of Laura DiSilverio‘s Readaholics Book Club Mystery Series, The Readaholics and the Falcon Fiasco. The Readaholics series will star Amy-Faye Johnson, an event planner in the scenic mountain town of Heaven, Colorado, as well as a member of the Readaholics Book Club. When one of the other Readaholics dies a sudden and suspicious death, it will be up to Amy-Faye to help crack the case and discover what happened to her friend! Laura DiSilverio also writes the Charlie Swift and Mall Cop Mystery Series, as well as the Southern Beauty Shop Mystery Series as Lila Dare and the Ballroom Dance Mystery Series as Ella Barrick.

The other new book isn’t by one author, but by two >>> Mae Fox and Jan Fields will be putting out Threads of Deceit, the first book in the Vineyard Quilt Mystery Series. (This is yet another in the Annie’s Crafts Company’s Cozy Mystery series. I have been listing the Annie’s Crafts Company series ever since a Cozy Mystery reader told me about these series which do not contain profanity. Annie’s Crafts Company also publishes the Annie’s Attic, Annie’s Quilted Mysteries, Annie’s Mysteries Unraveled, & the Creative Woman Mystery Series.) The Vineyard Quilt series will feature Mae Fox and a different co-author every book, as she works with the guest author to tell another story in the tales of Julie Ellis, former antiquities bounty hunter and current manager of quilt-themed inn, Quilt Haus Inn, situated in Missouri’s scenic Wine Country. When a corpse is found at the dig site for a famous sunken ship at a nearby farm, Julie will need to use her old expertise to help try to pin down the murderer!

Thanks for the information. I will be looking for both of these books/series. They sound interesting. I like the Missouri setting in Vineyard Quilt mysteries. I do sometimes have a hard time remembering authors’ names and their real names. I tend to just stick to the name on the book.

Diane, now we have authors, their pseudonyms, and their characters to remember!

We’ve discussed pseudonyms ad nauseam (CERTAINLY no need to go into a lengthy discussion again!), but pseudonyms get REALLY confusing when the ‘real author’ is switched to another author using the same pseudonym. At first, DiSilverio wrote the Beauty Shop series as Lila Dare. But Joanna Campbell-Slan wrote the last (most likely final) book as Lila Dare. I suppose the publisher has the ‘rights’ to the name.

I believe the same thing happened with the pseudonym ‘Lucy Arlington”. The name was originally used by Jennifer Stanley and Sylvia May as a writing team. But now it is used by Susan Furlong.

    Confused?

Actually, I’m looking forward to reading both of these books. I’ve read and enjoyed most of DiSilverio’s books.
I don’t know anything about the other writing team (and, there doesn’t seem to be any info available).

Mae Fox doesn’t have a webpage, so probably wants to keep her/his identity a secret. There is a website for an author ‘Jan Fields’, but she doesn’t list this book/series on it. She’s authored children’s books. She doesn’t even mention it on her facebook page. I probably would conclude that the Jan Fields writing the Vineyard Quilt Mystery series is different than the author who writes children’s books. I can’t imagine any author NOT mentioning a new release on her facebook page or her website!

MJ, Jan Fields has been writing Cozy Mysteries for various Annie’s Crafts Company Cozy Mystery series: Annie’s Attic Mystery Series, Annie’s Quilted Mystery Series, and Annie’s Mysteries Unraveled. I don’t know why her website doesn’t have her books for adults, but I believe she has written several children’s books.

Goodness: I must be about the dullest member here, I just started writing under my own name and kept at it. LOL. The only thing that changed were how you could read them – Amazon’s got them as ebooks, PODs, audios and even some samples of the audios all of which I thank the various publishers for. This is such a great and friendly and interesting group, I’m really enjoying being a member, I look forward to all of your comments, new books and series every day. Thank you and I hope 2015 is a great reading/writing year for all of us – special thanks to Danna too. 😎

Jackie, I’m glad you started writing under you own name and have kept up that tradition. It sure makes it easier for your readers!

I really enjoy the Annie’s Attic Mystery series. It can get confusing since they are by different authors and sometimes the libraries do not number the copies, if you like reading them in sequence. I believe you posted them in order and thank you so much. I will look for the newer series too.

Billie, yes, I have the Annie’s Attic Mystery Series in its correct order. Most of the mail-order book clubs are difficult so sequence, but I’m able to get them in the correct order because several Cozy Mystery readers send me the information I need, for which I am very grateful!
