The Carolyn Banks books are great. “real” horsepeople will appreciate the reality. I just wish she wrote more!

I agree, also. Rita Mae has a superb command of the English language and a deep understanding of character and motivation. Plus I love hearing the animal’s perspective.

Love your site. I notice that you don’t list Sue Grafton as having California as the location for Kinsey Milhone stories.

Sharron, you’re right that I don’t mention California in Grafton’s little description on the G page, I probably should. (I just have it on her actual page…)

Just a note: Dick Francis wrote several of his last books with his son Felix, who continued the series after his father’s death.

Susan*, I didn’t put Felix Francis on the list because I didn’t have a page made up for him on the site. I’ll go add him to the list now.

A very good juvenile horse mystery is ‘A Horse for XYZ’ by Louise Moeri. Probably 10 – 12 age group.
I had a copy, and although I wasn’t as horse-mad as some girls, I still loved it, and can recommend it.

“Horse of a Different Killer” is by Laura Morrigan, not Jody Jaffe. If Jaffe is 1/2 as good a Morrigan, I’ll give her/?him a try. Thanks.

Looking for a book about two white arabian horses. Thriller, mystery, romance about a woman and her musical daughter. Her former lover shows up to protect her and fight the bad guys. Of course, they rekindle their relationship after a tryst in the barn and it turns out he is the girls father. Running through the story are the two white arabian horses. Can’t remember the title or author.

Betsy, I’m afraid I can’t think of the answer to that one off the top of my head! Maybe someone else will be able to help, or I’ll post it as part of a questions post on the first page of the blog.

You should add D.M. O’Byrne and her Tonya Callahan series – Dangerous Turf and Three to One Odds. Both cozy mysteries about Thoroughbred racing.
