OK, OK, I know it’s not officially autumn yet, but I think that someone somehow got the seasons all wrong. I know that fall doesn’t begin until September 22 this year, but as far as I am concerned, autumn should begin at the very beginning of September and continue until the very beginning of December. But, that’s just my opinion!
I have been trying to update the Holiday Mystery Book section of the Cozy Mystery site, and I think I’m pretty much done with Halloween’s list. I would, however, not be upset if some of you know of some Halloween mysteries that I have missed.
For those of you who have been with the site for a while, you probably already know that I don’t only include Cozy Mystery Halloween books on this particular list. I would greatly appreciate it if, when you have the time, you would take a look at the Halloween Theme Mystery Books list and let me know of any exclusions on my part.
I try to update all of the seasonal mystery book lists each year as the different holidays approach, but some years I do the updating in a more timely fashion than other years. This year I met my goal!
Anyway… if you see any Halloween Theme Mystery Books that I am missing, please post a comment and I will try to add the book as soon as possible. Thanks!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’m going through some nasty legal stuff right now, and looking forward to some holiday reads – makes for a nice break in the stress. All of your work is also invaluable when studying the subgenre as a would-be writer. There’s no way I’d ever be able to pull all this information together so well. You rock!!!

Thanks, Wana. And, if you can think of any other Halloween theme mysteries, please let me know.

SWEEEEET! I posted the link on Booktalk message thread on Weight Watchers boards. They were happy to see it, those of us who dig cozies and are gearing up for the Halloween challenge we do each year.

Thanks, Chris, I just added it to the Halloween mystery theme list.

Is Bookplate Special by Lorna Barrett a Halloween mystery? I haven’t read it yet, and was just wondering because it had a pumpkin on the front cover. Thanks.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
That’s a good question, Alise. When I posted the cover of Bookplate Special, I also wondered about it being a Halloween theme mystery. I looked and looked at what reviewers said about it, and couldn’t find anything that was Halloween-specific.

I think Laura Childs’ Fiber & Brimstone is a Halloween-themed book.
Thank you for your website. I love reading cozies, and as autumn and all the end-of-the-year holidays approach, I particularly enjoy the cozies set during my favorite time of the year.

You’re welcome, Rachel, AND thank you for telling me about Laura Childs’ Halloween-themed mystery, Fiber & Brimstone. I added it to the list on the Cozy Mystery sites Halloween Themed Mystery Books.

Hi Rachel and Danna, just to add (since the Halloween Themed are my favs) Laura Childs also has a Halloween Themed in the Cackleberry Club Mysteries BEDEVILED EGGS; which is excellent, I really enjoyed it. It was the first one in the series I tried (even tho I hate reading out of order) when I needed an extra Halloween Book. I liked it so much I picked up the rest of the series. The Tea Shoppe Mysteries JASMINE MOON MURDERS is Halloweenish involving a Ghost Crawl thru Jasmine Cemetery. Another series I love.

Thank you, Margaret, I just added both Bedeviled Eggs and The Jasmine Moon Murders (both by Laura Childs) to the Halloween Theme Mystery Series. (It looks like a few Cozy Mystery readers are getting their Halloween theme mysteries all set up for this coming holiday season!)
