Well, this is a little bit early by my normal schedule (I usually try to get this sort of thing up at the beginning of the new month, instead of the end of the old) but I thought it is appropriate since Halloween is tomorrow! Unusually enough, we’ll have a Halloween release in December. Hmmm >>> I’m not sure, but I think this is the first time I remember this happening. I guess rather than look at the release date as late, we can look at it as early for next year’s Halloween season!
Krista Davis will be releasing the second book in her relatively new Paws and Clutter Mystery Series, The Ghost and Mrs. Mewer. In this entry to the series, ghost hunters will be descending upon Holly Miller’s pet-friendly Sugar Maple Inn. When a girl turns up dead at a famously haunted location in town, Holly (and her faithful pets, Jack Russell, Jack, and kitten, Twinkletoes!) will need to prove that the culprit was a flesh and blood criminal… not only to put a killer behind bars, but to prove that her beloved town of Wagtail isn’t haunted!

Also, here are the entries I wrote about the Christmas mystery books that will be released during this month – November 2014:

I have already pre-ordered! Of course I will save it for Fall next year. But what a great new series. I am hooked on her Domestic Diva Mysteries, so I was not surprised I enjoyed this new series. But, I was happy to see how different they are. Both series have their own unique personallities.
Just finishing up my Halloween reading this week, I have to start collecting for next year.

Margaret M., I loved this comment of yours! It has given me an idea for an entry. Don’t be surprised to see an entry about Cozy Mystery authors who write more than one series that are totally different from each other. Thanks!

Danna: I am a fan ambassador of Debbie Macomber and she
blessedly corrected a mistake of the Hallmark Christmas movies.
I have to thank you for that lovely lineup as play Guess and bygosh with those movies. Hallmark has informed the author that Mr. Miracle will be shown on December 6-at either 7 or 8pm and may be repeated (as Hallmark can be known to do) throughout the season. So for those that were going to tune in-it won’t be on November 29. Just wanted to correct that for your viewers.
The book, even though not a Cozy mystery-is an excellent and uplifting “feel good” fix for the Holidays. Debbie always has a happy ending for her readers.
BTW-Happy Holidays Everyone!

Could anyone please tell me as I forgot to write down the author’s name of the Chihuahua in a Christmas Stocking or the name of the author that does the Chihuahua series? Please. I have a friend that loves mysteries but doesn’t have a computer and I want her to have the author’s name so she can hit the library with her wish list?
Thanks.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Rob, the author is Waverly Curtis.
Rob says
Thanks, Danna! I want to read the Christmas one also. I liked the others also and frankly wanted to read it as it was about Chihuahuas! My friend’s dog, Zeus is a 10 year old, 12 pound little spitfire and he is so cute! So when I came across that series, I had to try it! Curtis has a surefire winner. I’m also wanting, Thanks to you and Margaret, to try Krista Davis’s new series as well.

Rob, I have never “known” a Chihuahua, but I understand they are very active, little dogs. We have one who I see walking in our neighborhood who looks like he’s a handful!

Rob, thanks for the information about Mr. North. I wonder why they changed the airing date…
Stash Empress says
I loved the first in this series, looking forward to this release!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Stash, thanks for telling us… I think we all enjoy seeing what other Cozy Mystery lovers are reading.
Mary B says
Thanks for sharing this. It’s a big help with so many cozies out there.

Mary B, I’m glad Krista Davis is putting this Halloween Cozy Mystery out, I just wish it had been published in September or October.
Susan* says
As for being off schedule – you’re only a couple of days early! Much better than being late! 🙂
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Susan*, you’re right about being a few days early. And, this Cozy will be ten months early!
Edie says
Better late than never? Holiday stories seem to be welcome no matter what time of year anymore.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Edie, so true!

I’m also a fan of Krista Davis’ books. Looking forward to December to purchase for the Kindle. For those Domestic Diva fans on Krista’s website I noticed her next Domestic Diva book “The Diva Steals a Chocolate Kiss” (the title is tentative) will be coming June 2, 2015.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Sheila, thanks for the information about Krista Davis‘ June release: The Diva Steals a Chocolate Kiss. I don’t have access to adding it to my Soon to be Released page right now, but I will get it up as soon as I can.
MJ says
Hmmm……….I’m not sure it’s up to Ms. Davis when the books are released, but keep in mind her latest in the Diva series was released last June – The Diva Wraps it Up – a Christmas themed book. So for her, the holiday themed stories are a bit off. But, I too, can keep the holiday Halloween spirit going a little longer and will read the book a bit late.
BTW, I haven’t read the Diva Wraps It Up yet, preferring to read it sometime in November.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
MJ, I’m like you >>> I try to read my holiday Cozies during their corresponding holidays, or at least near their holidays. Doing that, though, throws my keeping up with the series out of whack.
