Pam says
I read my first Hamish Macbeth book over the holidays, and I am hooked.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Pam, it’s certainly a great series to get started on, since there’s so much of it available now!
Kate says
I just finished that series. I’m a little smitten with that unambiguous man. 🙂 I much preferred that series to the Agatha Raisin books.
Patg says
You had asked a while back about our favorite cozies. I read this one last year, and it is great! “Eyeshine: Murder in Stroker Hills” written by CY Wyss is one of the best books I have read. It’s about a woman reporter who turns into a black cat from sundown to sunup. I just wish the author would write more of “Eyeshine” stories!
Marivale says
I’m getting more and more discouraged by the increasing prices of e-books. Usually, I won’t spend more than $7.99 for an e-book with a very few exceptions for specially loved authors. Looking through both January and February new releases, I only pre-ordered a few. I’ll wait a year to buy the books when the prices drop.
The logic behind these price increases escapes me. They sell fewer books so the series get dropped. Makes no sense at all!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Marivale, my understanding is that Kindle prices are set by the publisher, and many try to be competitive with their paperback releases in terms of price. It doesn’t seem like a great idea to me either.

So sad that we lost another wonderful author. Sue Grafton. I will miss her.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Sharon, yes, her death is definitely a loss to the mystery community.
Judy says
Have you heard anything about Joyce and Jim Lavene’s unfinished books. Wondering if anyone will finish writing and then publish. I miss the books they were all great. Very sad
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Judy, no I haven’t heard anything unfortunately. I don’t think their series are going to continue.
Judy says
I noticed Jane Cleland hasn’t written a Josie book since 2016 Have you heard anything ? Hope she hasn’t stopped the series.??
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Judy, actually, there should be a new entry coming out in April. It’s been added to her page now.
Mo says
I discovered Elizabeth J. Duncan’s Penny Brannigan series set in North Wales and her Shakespeare in the Catskills (New York State – not city) series at the end of last year by chance in my local library. Downside of the library is they are spread out over the membership towns so often need to request – patience is a virtue!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Mo, that’s certainly a downside of relying on libraries! Still, the wait should be worth it.
Carolyn G says
I received an email from Barnes & Noble that Diane Vallere has a new book coming out on Feb 27 titled The Pajama Frame. It says it’s part of her Madison Night series. I loved her costume shop series!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Carolyn, thanks for the “heads up” – I’ve added this to both the upcoming releases page and Diane Vallere’s author page!
Dawn R says
I am new to the cozy mystery genre. I was just browsing my local library one day and came across one of the Cat in the Stacks books…now I am hooked! A few of my favorite authors are Gail Oust, Miranda James and Chris Cavender. I have read all the books in the Pizza Lover’s Mysteries! Any news on if the author is working on another in the series? Thanks!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Dawn, I’m afraid I haven’t heard anything about new entries in the Pizza Lover’s Mystery Series since its last entry – though I will point out that Chris Cavender does write as a number of different names, if you haven’t checked those out yet. (A full list can be found at the Chris Cavender page on the site.)
