This entry is for all of the Debbie Macomber and/or Doris Roberts fans. As I wrote last year at about this time, I know that Debbie Macomber doesn’t write Cozy Mysteries. Having said that, I also know that there are quite a few Cozy Mystery site readers who enjoy Debbie Macomber’s books and/or movies.
Last year I announced when Debbie Macomber’s Mrs. Miracle Christmas movie (starring Doris Roberts as Mrs. Miracle) was going to air on the Hallmark channel. Several people posted comments (or wrote to me) asking when Hallmark was going to air the movie again, or when they could buy the movie.
Here’s the good news! Hallmark channel is going to air Debbie Macomber’s Mrs. Miracle on the following dates:
Tuesday, Nov. 16 10:00 pm (Yes, as in tonight!)
Wednesday, Nov. 17 6:00 am
Saturday, Nov. 27 6:00 pm
So set up your mode of taping, or settle down to watch it live!
But, the even better news for all of you Debbie Macomber fans (as well as fans of feel-good holiday movies) is that Hallmark is also going to be airing Call Me Mrs. Miracle, a new Debbie Macomber Christmas movie.
Call Me Mrs. Miracle will premiere on Saturday, November 27. (It also stars Doris Roberts as Mrs. Miracle.) I haven’t yet been able to find out all of the airing dates, but it looks like Hallmark channel will be airing it a few times that Saturday night, again on Sunday, Nov. 28, and more times on Friday, Dec. 3 and Saturday, Dec. 4.
Hallmark channel tends to air and re-air their Christmas movies several times throughout November and December. So check your television schedules!

Thanks for sharing this info – wanted to pass along another great holiday family film we recently discovered. Homeless for the Holidays is an amazing film that follows an executive that has lost it all & has to take a job at a burger joint – a situation many of our familes can relate to today. Based on a true story, it is an awesome film that makes a great addition to your holiday movie list. EXCELLENT for family movie night – especially with the holidays coming up. Thanks again!

Thank you, Les, for telling us about Homeless for the Holidays. I’ll take a look around and see if Hallmark channel is planning to air it…

And, if you’d like a sneak preview of Call Me Mrs. Miracle, my review of Macomber’s book will run on my blog tomorrow (Wed., Nov. 17). It’s on http://www.lesasbookcritiques.blogspot.com. I knew about the Hallmark showing of it, but thanks for the heads-up on Mrs. Miracle for tonight.

Lesa, thank you so much for telling us about your Call Me Mrs. Miracle review. I hope that when readers access your blog, they will scroll down to your entry from Saturday, November 13, 2010 called Quarterly Brown Bag Luncheon. What a great way to find out about Christmas theme books!
Your library patrons must absolutely love you!!!

what would you call hallmark type movies like this? for the longest time, when i couldn’t figure out how to look up the type of books i liked (until i found your site) , i had no idea to look up COZY MYSTERIES. do they call these type of hallmark movies “cozies” too? i wish there was a way of searching for these feel good movies 🙂
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Jen, that’s a good question. I really enjoy these “feel-good” holiday movies. And, you’re right>>> they are Cozies!
I use our Replay machine and search for words like “holidays” and “Christmas” and then go through each of the results that the Replay finds. It’s tedious, since so many things pop up… but that is how I find these Cozy holiday movies.
I still haven’t seen White Christmas or Christmas in Connecticut (with Barbara Stanwyck… a yearly tradition for my daughter and me!) on any of my results, and hope that they will be airing them again this year. As for A Christmas Story and It’s a Wonderful Life, I am pretty sure they will be shown sometimeSSS during December.

Danna, Katie told me she taped the first one and will tape the 2nd one for me ‘back to back’! Thank you again for giving me a head’s up on these! I love the Christmas movies you all mentioned above – I believe ‘Going My Way’ with Bing Crosby will be on in December as well. One of my faves for sure.

Petie, it’s great that your sister was able to tape the Debbie Macomber’s Mrs. Miracle, and that she is on the look-out for the next one in the series. I would have loved to have a twin!
I remember watching Going My Way a few years ago, when TCM aired it. I just love movies from the 1940s! I may not have been around when they were playing in the theaters, but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying them now that they are so widely available…

Danna i forgot to ask you if you’ve ever seen “Timepiece” – one of my favorite christmas movies. it’s on at 10am today on hallmark movie channel (which sadly, i don’t get) and 2am on 10/25. its part of “The Christmas box” movie – i think the sequel.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Jennifer, I haven’t seen Timepiece, but I have seen The Christmas Box. My daughter read AND then re-read The Christmas Box (by Richard Paul Evans) so many times when she was young. I knew we absolutely HAD to watch that… let me just say it… “feel-good Christmas movie.”
Denise says
Love your site. One of my favorite movies around Christmas time is The Bishop’s Wife with David Niven , Loretta Young and Cary Grant.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Denise, I love that version of The Bishop’s Wife. (I also really like the Denzel Washington, Courtney B. Vance and Whitney Houston version called The Preacher’s Wife.)
Jen says
Danna, definitely check it out. I cry when they play it every single year. Did I say 10/25? I meant it’s on 11/25 at 2am, if you have tivo or dvr 🙂 I think it’s a good one! James Earl Jones, Naomi Watts, Kevin Kilner and Ellen Burstyn are in it.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Jen, thanks for writing and letting us know about the movie being played on Nov. 25. I love watching (and listening to!) James Earl Jones!

One of the best movies I have seen in a long time. I laughed and wept-walking away still believing in miracles. What powerful messages intertwined in the everyday life of the people portrayed in the movie. I was uplifted in everyway possible. Sadly, I did not tape it. But will be buying it if possible. Great job on this movie!
