I’ve got a slew of good news for upcoming Cozies!
First up, Tasha Alexander will be releasing what sounds like either a new series or a stand-alone novel, Secret of the Nile. That certainly sounds like a very classic Cozy sort of plot in the Christie-era tradition! Tasha Alexander’s current series is the Lady Emily Ashton Mystery Series, another classic sort of series starring a Victorian England aristocrat.
Next up, Ellen Byron (aka Maria DiRico), a friend of the site, will be putting out another in her Cajun Kiss of Death, another entry in her Cajun Country Mystery Series starring the manager of her family’s plantation-turned-bed-and-breakfast in Louisiana. As Maria DiRico, she also writes the Catering Hall Mystery Series, starring a manager at a catering hall in Astoria, New York City.
Victoria Gilbert will be putting out at least two more entries in her Book Lover’s B&B Mystery Series, one of which will be titled A Stay With Death, starring the owner of a B&B in North Carolina. She will also be starting the Hunter & Clewe Mystery Series, with the first entry A Cryptic Clue, which will star a retired librarian and an eccentric collector of rare books and artifacts.
Carol J. Perry will be putting out a few more entries in the Witch City Mystery Series, including two titled Murder, Take Two, and See Something, in this series starring a reporter and a cat in Salem, Massachusetts. She’ll also be starting a new paranormal mystery series, the Haunted Haven Mystery Series, with the first book titled Be My Ghost.
Barbara Ross will be putting out three more entries in the Maine Clambake Mystery Series, starring the owner of a clambake business in Maine, taking the series to a total of twelve entries. She’s also the author of the new Professional Busybody Mystery Series, starring a retiree in Massachusetts.
Finally, Valerie Wilson Wesley will be starting a new series after a relatively long time away from mysteries. No news so far on the name of the series, but the first entry will be titled A Glimmer of Death, and star a widowed caterer turned realtor, and it sounds like it might have paranormal elements. Wesley’s other mystery series is the Tamara Hayle Mystery Series, which hasn’t had a new entry since 2008.

I am always so thrilled to see myself on this site! Before I was even published, cozy-mystery.com was my go-to site for all things cozy mystery. Thank you so much for sharing the news, Danna!
And I’ll soon have more news to share with you and my fellow cozy-mystery.com readers! Shh…

I am right in the middle of ‘Murder, Take Two’ by Carol J Perry. I am really enjoying it and look forward to reading ‘See Something’. I only just discovered her books a few month ago, but have really enjoyed all of them.
I only started reading Ellen Byron this year as well, and I have not caught up with the whole series yet, but I expect to do so soon.

Danna: I have three that I want to comment on three series that I’ve been reading and are really fun reads! With the library closing to everything but curbside, I’ll have to get my books at Barnes and Noble or Schuller’s (which I can’t afford at part time). At least the library will let us order and pickup books at curbside. That is a blessing!
Knit and Nibble series by Peggy Ehrhart. She has a Christmas themed book with 2 other novellas.
Southern Women’s Quilting mysteries by Elizabeth Craig and
The Skeleton in the Family series by Leigh Perry.
All are winners ladies. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

Rob, thanks for the recommendations!

That is a lot of good news! So many books to add to my TBR list! I am a little embarrassed to admit this, but I am totally unable to read Barbara Ross’s Maine Clambake Mystery series. I’m allergic to shellfish and I just can’t read a book that involves seafood preparation, even as a side element to the mystery. I am planning to start the Professional Busybody series though. Has anyone else been turned off to a series that sounds good because of a personal issue, or is it just me?

Cuppa, I’m glad to give you so much good news at once! Personally, I haven’t had any real issue reading books for this sort of reason that I can recall… though it’s possible something just isn’t coming to mind.

Dear CUppa.
You are not by any means the only one! I normally don’t tune in on a mystery surrounding cats! I was bitten by one years ago and still have the scars to prove it (physical and mental). But I did make an exception on the Maine Coon series by Miranda James.
The Cat in the Stacks series is very enjoyable.
I totally understand your aversion to reading about a mystery surrounding something you can’t eat!

Hello Danna,
I stumbled across your page on Facebook while looking for something “new (to me) and interesting ” to read. I then followed the link to here. I am a Romance reader at heart, but I may have just found my new reading pleasure. I have just finished my first Cozy Mystery, and I am hooked! Thank you so much for all the information you share! I for one truly appreciate your hard work.
Best wishes
