It’s a great month for Cozy Mystery news, as I have six pieces of news to share with you all about established Cozy Mystery authors!
First Leslie Budewitz will be releasing a stand-alone novel titled Bitterroot Lake, which will star a young widow who has returned to her family’s lakeside lodge in Montana to seek solace for her deceased husband and to reconnect with estranged friends. Suffice to say, murder brings her to learn new things about the friends she had lost contact with.
Next, Lynn Cahoon will be writing several new books, confirming at least one more book in the Farm-to-Fork Mystery Series, bringing the series to at least seven, and several more in the Tourist Trap Mystery Series, taking the series to at least a total of 13 novels.
G. M. Malliet will be putting out a fourth entry in the St. Just Mystery Series, titled St. Just in Cornwall. This is especially noteworthy as it will be the first release for this series in over a decade, as the last entry came out in 2010. It will bring the series to a total of four entries.
Rose Pressey will be releasing at least one more in her Haunted Craft Fiar Mystery Series, which will bring the series to a total of four entries to date.
Clea Simon has announced two new upcoming novels – the third entry of the Witch Cats of Cambridge Mystery Series, titled A Cat on the Case, and a stand alone novel titled Hold Me Down. Hold Me Down will star a former star who is looking into a mysterious death with links to her past.
Finally, Nicola Upson will be putting out two more entries in the 1930s period mystery series, the Josephine Tey Mystery Series. The first of those will be titled The Secrets of Winter, and will bring the series to at least ten entries.

Thank you so much for your Blog.
Are you aware of any new Cozy authors doing antique/needlework mysteries? I’ve exhausted my series of M. Ferris, J. Bolin and B Allen. All of whom I love! Seems most new authors feature bookstores, cooking, etc.
I wonder if this is because antiques and needlework appear to be falling out of fashion? Your thoughts??
Thanks

Kate, I haven’t seen as many of these lately either… that said, I do have a theme page on needlework mysteries that you might find interesting! I suppose it could be a movement away from needlework and antiquing… though I don’t follow those sort of trends enough to be sure.

Kate, If you have not read them, you should check out the Mainely Needlepoint series by Lea wait. Unfortunately, she has passed away, so there will not be anymore books added to the series, but I really enjoyed this series.

Thank you so much. I have read every one of Lea’s books. Loved them. Almost finished the Monica Ferris series also.

Hi! I apologize if this is question is off-topic: I’m trying to remember the title of a cozy I read last year, or heard as an Audiobook, that took place onboard a harbored ship, I believe during a will-reading or murder mystery dinner. The book was part of an existing series that normally is not onboard ships. I believe the MC was a caterer or chef for the party. Can you help me remember which title this was?? I would love to read it again!

Este, I’m afraid I can’t help you! But hopefully someone else on the site can – I’ve posted your question as part of a reader questions post on the front page.

Este, most of the answers so far have suggested that it might be an entry in Maya Corrigan’s Five-Ingredient Mystery Series. There have been a few other suggestions, though, so you might want to take a look at the blog post.
