Thanks so much, Danna!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Kate, you’re welcome!
Bek says
I really need to start using my Kindle app on my computer. I’m hoping to actually buy a Kindle soon.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Bek, it’s certainly a convenient way to keep a number of books on hand without needing to worry about storage.
Bek says
I just…well…I LOVE the way a “real” book feels in my hands! However, it would certainly be a way to explore a new series, and see if I want a hard copy for my shelves! That alone would make it worthwhile!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Bek, I’ve written before about how reluctant I was to get a Kindle. But, the ability to change the font size has made reading so much easier for me that I could not go back to real books except in an emergency!
Susy S says
Bek, Instead of buying a Kindle, I bought an inexpensive table computer that was about the same size as a paperback.
I was able to determine that I am NOT ready to go full on e-books, but it has made it easier to take a lot of books when I travel and I have found a few sights that always have cheap and often free books. I have found a few authors by reading a free book and getting hooked. I have also tried a couple of authors that others were raving about, only to find they were not to my taste.
I know that that first tablet paid for itself by allowing me to NOT buy books that I would not like. A few years back, the tablets memory was too small for some of my needs and my in-laws upgraded me to an iPad. It is bigger and heavier (not good), but I can load a lot of books on it for those times when I will not have wi-fi access (I refuse to pay for cell service for it just to download books.)
Pat D says
Bek and Susy S, I too was hesitant to get a Kindle because I also prefer the feel of a “real” book. However, I have found that there are a lot of self published authors who only publish e-books so that’s what I have in my Kindle. I still buy some paperbacks or get ones I want from the library. I’m not a particularly fast reader so it’s ok if I have to wait for a book at the library.
Donna McLean says
I still prefer print books, but I use my kindle for books I like to quote or refer to for some reason because ebooks are easy to search. Just type in “cat” and it brings up all the references to cats in the ebook!
Donna McLean says
Thanks, Danna! I’m hard at work on the next book in the Sparrow Falls series, so I hope to have a nice cover to send your way soon. Or in a few months. You know how editors are, lol!
