TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES CHANNEL MYSTERY MOVIES – May 2025

April 27, 2025

Oh my goodness! It’s almost summer time! It has already been too hot, humid, and downright muggy down here, which makes me wonder what they did back when there were no air conditioners! My brother was going to move down here to be closer to my family, but the weather was something that kept him from finally making the journey. I am guessing that you don’t come to the Cozy Mystery site’s blog to hear me complain about our weather, so here goes…

Here are the mystery and crime movies that I was able to find on the Turner Classic Movies channel that will be aired during May 2025. I hope you are able to find a few you enjoy watching. I have already set up my YouTube TV to record for as far as I can – since there are several mystery/crime movies that I’m looking forward to watching during May.

Upcoming Mysteries on Turner Classic Movies for April 2025

March 23, 2025

Wow-Zee! Spring is a great time to watch mystery and/or crime movies! I’m all in on that sentiment! Here is the list of the mystery/crime movies that I was able to glean from the Turner Classic Movies channel’s April 2025 schedule. I know I shouldn’t have started day one of April with a non-mystery movie, but I think The Catered Affair is such a great movie (with a great cast!) that I just had to tell you about it. It has been aired several times recently, but I “had” to mention it again.

Upcoming Mysteries on Turner Classic Movies for March 2025

February 20, 2025

The Turner Classic Movie channel will be showing four Hildegarde Withers movies this month. When I think of Stuart Palmer’s older, British amateur sleuth, I think of Edna May Oliver. (The fourth Hildegarde movie stars Helen Broderick as Hildegarde Withers.) Of course, Hildegarde is accompanied by a police detective who she is able to lead on to the correct solution of the crimes they (as in she!) solves. (You may be interested in checking out Stuart Palmer’s page on my Cozy Mystery site…) I have also had the pleasure of watching the Hildegard movies that feature ZaSu Pitts as Hildegarde, but the channel won’t be airing those this month.

Another thing I want to bring to your attention is the fact that the Turner Classic Movie channel will be featuring a day of Alfred Hitchcock movies on March 12. They will be starting the day with a documentary called “Becoming Hitchcock – The Legacy of Blackmail”. I’m looking forward to this! The day will continue by showing five more of Alfred Hitchcock’s mystery movies and his only comedy. I’m fortunate that I enjoy watching some movies over and over, and then over again!

Upcoming Mysteries on Turner Classic Movies for February 2025

January 23, 2025

It seems to me there are fewer mystery movies that are being aired this month. I don’t think it’s because February is such a short month. When I was compiling this list I noticed that the Turner Classic Movies was doing a lot of “theme days” – it seems that none of the theme days were dedicated to mystery movies. However, there still are several really good ones such as Double Indemnity (1944) on February 4, several of Alfred Hitchcock’s movies, and Gaslight (1944) on February 25, and several other newer ones.
