TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES CHANNEL MYSTERY MOVIES – June 2026

June 9, 2026

I am a big fan of Alfred Hitchcock, so I’m pretty excited about June 2026’s Turner Classic Movies lineup! On Friday, June 19 the Turner Classic Movies channel will start airing six of Alfred Hitchcock’s mystery movies – including one silent movie from 1927 (“The Lodger” aka “The Girl Was Young”). And, even better than those six mysteries, the next day they will air one more Alfred Hitchcock movie. I think that out of all seven of these movies, my favorite is his 1938 “The Lady Vanishes”. Love it! [Also, on Monday, June 22 Alfred Hitchcock’s silent 1927 movie “Downhill” will be playing, but I don’t know for sure if it is a mystery or drama. And, on Friday, June 26 they will air Hitchcock’s “The Man Who Knew Too Much” (1934)]

So, here is the list of mystery and/or crime movies that the Turner Classic Movies channel will be airing during June 2026.

PS: Sorry for the lateness on this. It is a combination of two issues – first, the place I normally get these isn’t updating as far into the future as it normally is, which means I in turn cannot update as far out either. Second, I was visiting my daughter. Unfortunately, the first issue is likely to continue to be a problem – I’m considering what exactly I intend to do about this.

TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES CHANNEL MYSTERY MOVIES – May 2026

May 1, 2026

It seems like it is taking me longer and longer to get these monthly mystery movie schedules together. Sometimes I just get so absorbed in either the movies that I recognize, the actors and actresses, or the directors. I keep a list of the movies that I want to DVR – so I can watch them when I feel the urge.

As I got May 2026’s schedule together, I thought that none of Alfred Hitchcock’s mystery movies were going to be shown on Turner Classic Movies channel. That seemed really unusual. However, I just did a word search and found several of his movies.

Anyway, here are is the list of the mystery and crime movies that I did find that will be showing May 2026. I’m already adding some of them to my YouTube TV queue…

TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES CHANNEL MYSTERY MOVIES – April 2026

March 28, 2026

I know there are a lot of us who pretty much started our Cozy Mystery reading with the Nancy Drew mystery books. Because of this, I want to be sure to highlight that the Turner Classic Movie channel will be showing four of the very best Nancy Drew movies during April 2026. There have been different renditions of shows that have been based on the Nancy Drew novels, but as far as I’m concerned, these four movies come the closest to the novels.

On Wednesday, April 15, all four of the Nancy Drew movies starring Bonita Granville will be playing:

Nancy Drew: Detective (1938)
Nancy Drew… Reporter (1939)
Nancy Drew… Trouble Shooter (1939)
Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase (1939)

Bonita Granville, as far as I’m concerned, is the absolute best-ever Nancy Drew. She is exactly the way I remember Nancy being from all those delightful books I read so many years ago. Also, Frankie Thomas and John Litel are terrific as Nancy’s side-kick sleuth and her very patient father. I have seen these four movies several times before, and I will probably be watching them several times in the future.

TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES CHANNEL MYSTERY MOVIES – August 2025

July 24, 2025

You know how you immediately associate a particular actor/actress with a fiction character you’re very familiar with? Well, that is how I feel about Edna May Oliver in Stuart Palmer’s Hildegarde Withers (Cozy) mystery series! As far as I’m concerned, Edna May Oliver IS Miss Withers! (The same thing goes for Joan Hickson in Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple (Cozy) mystery series movies.)

Well, here’s some very good news for all of you Cozy Mystery television-watchers! On Monday, August 18 the Turner Classic Movies channel will be showing 3 Hildegarde Withers movies: Penguin Pool Murder (1932), Murder on the Blackboard (1934), and The Plot Thickens (1936). The first two movies star Edna May Oliver and the 3rd one stars ZaSu Pitts. (As much as I enjoy movies with ZaSu Pitts, I just don’t associate her with Miss Withers.) And, on Tuesday, August 19, the Turner Classic Movies channel will continue our viewing enjoyment with Murder on a Honeymoon (1935) starring Edna May Oliver, and Forty Naughty Girls (1938) with ZaSu Pitts.

Be sure to set your recording machines to these fun Cozy Mystery movies!
