September 17, 2016

I’m adding another set of new authors to the site >>> four more specifically. As always, these are authors I’ve heard of from visitors to the site, either through comments or by email.

Stephanie Blackmoore is a Pittsburgh native who now lives in Missouri. Before becoming an author, she has had a career as a lawyer and a librarian. She is the author of the Wedding Planner Mystery Series, which stars Mallory Shepard, a wedding planner who also plans on opening a bed and breakfast in the small town of Port Quincy, Pennsylvania.

Susan Breen is a creative writing teacher at Gotham Writers in Manhattan, and is also on the faculty of both the New York Pitch Conference and New York Writers Workshop. Her Cozy Mystery series is the Maggie Dove Mystery Series, starring a Sunday school teacher in Westchester County, New York, who eventually opens a detective agency.

Sandra Bretting was born in southern California, but moved east (well, Mid-West anyway) to attend the Missouri School of Journalism, where she discovered her true passion of writing fiction. She worked as a freelancer for the Los Angeles Times for a while before moving to Houston, Texas, where she continued her career as a freelance journalist and began her career in Cozy Mystery writing. She is the author of the Missy DuBois Mystery Series, starring the owner of a hat shop on the Great River Road in Louisiana, which is known for its many plantations.

Sarah Fox is a legal writer from Vancouver, British Columbia. She writes the Pancake House Mystery Series starring Marley McKinney, manager of a pancake house. This series includes recipes! Four New-to-the-Site Cozy Authors: Gretchen Archer: Davis Way Crime Caper, Catherine Bruns: Cookies & Chance, Mary Feliz: Maggie McDonald, Nancy Herriman: Mystery of Old San Franscisco

August 16, 2016

I’m adding new authors to the site —-> four authors this time. As always, these are authors I’ve heard of from visitors to the site, either through comments or by email. I haven’t had a chance to read any of their books yet, but I think they look interesting!

Gretchen Archer lives in Lookout Mountain, Tennessee with her son, husband, and Yorkie. (Her daughters have flown the coop.) She is the bestselling author of the Davis Way Crime Caper Mystery Series, starring a security expert in the Bellissimo Resort and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Catherine Bruns is an Upstate New York native, with a bachelor’s degree in English and Performing Arts. She’s worked as a newspaper reporter and press release author. She is the author of the USA Today bestselling Cookies & Chance Mystery Series, starring a baker in Colwestern, New York, and the Cindy York Mystery Series, starring a real estate agent. She’s a busy author who lives with her husband, three sons, and both cats and dogs.

Mary Feliz lives in Silicon Valley in California, but has lived in many other places – including five states and two different countries. She is a graduate of Smith College with a degree in Sociology, and has worked in corporate communications. She’s the author of the Maggie McDonald Mystery Series, starring a mother, wife, and professional organizer. Mary actually joined the National Association of Professional Organizers so that she could immerse herself in her character’s profession!

Nancy Herriman was once an engineer, but ended that career to raise her children and take up writing. She now lives in Ohio (after twenty years of living in Arizona) with her husband and sons. She writes the Mystery of Old San Francisco Mystery Series, which stars Celia Davies. Although Celia was born in Great Britain, she lives in San Francisco during the 1860s. She is a nurse who has founded a free medical clinic for the poor to be able to receive medical attention.

The Kay Driscoll mysteries all take place during different holiday seasons.

A professional writer who was born in Texas and now lives in California, Marla Cooper has written on a variety of subjects ranging from advertising copy to poetry to travel guidebooks. Born in California, Kendel Lynn has also lived in Michigan and now lives in Dallas, Texas. She started both a stamp company and co-launched a mystery publishing house (Henery Press), and is the author of the Elliot Lisbon Mystery Series.  Carlene O’Connor spends most of her time in either New York or Ireland, and is the author of the Irish Village Mystery Series, which takes place in the fictional small town of Kilbane, County Cork, and stars Siobhán O’Sullivan, the owner of a small family bistro.
