I wonder why there is so little information on Dicey Deere? I can’t find anything about her anywhere, and there are only four books. Does anyone know ANYTHING about this author, and why the books stopped?

Welcome to the site, Alice. You should be able to find an author or two! I am not in any danger of running out of Cozy Mystery authors, thanks to the recommendation of so many site readers. I love that I can pick and choose between so many. I have to admit, though, that I have tried a few very popular authors who simply weren’t for me… which is OK since so many of my newly acquired favorite authors have at least one series for me to read… some of them have two or three series!

So can someone please comment on what Dicey Deere is doing, and whether there is a chance of her writing anymore books.
I know that there are many authors out there, but I really love her writing and how the stories take place in Ireland.

Isabella, it does look like Dicey Deere’s Torrey Tunet Mystery Series may be a thing of the past – since her last book was published in 2004. What a shame! I’ll post an entry in the future and ask if anyone knows if she will be adding any more mysteries to her series…

What I like about the English mysteries is how some of these plots have past history situations. Example, some have happenings from WW2. Where we here in the US had a very bad time during that war (my husband’s father was killed in that war), the English had the war on their doorsteps. Quite a different matter. I love the stories that have a bit of history mixed in the plots.

Have you heard of a cozy series, featuring a man who collects toy cars, Dinky toys? He has a couple of friends who help in his sleuthing. I read the books years ago, but can’t remember the author. The books are set in England.

Hello Danna, I’ve just discovered your site and I love it!
“Julie” wrote Nov 8th 2011 about a series about a collector of dinky cars – I read those in the late eighties/early 9os. They featured a middle-aged-but-attractive man, a high flyer who’d retired to Brighton, Sussex, to open a shop dealing in tin toys.
Unfortunately I can’t remember the Author’s name or any titles.
Ann Cleeves’ “Shetland” series have been filmed by the Beeb recently, good, and there is a cracking thriller on at the moment called “Happy Valley,” still on the BBC I player.

As a writer of ‘cozy crime’ novels set on the Isle of Bute, just off the West coast of Scotland, I’m delighted to have discovered your site! I was beginning to think I was alone as so many recent crime novesl seem to be police procedurals and though I enjoy some of these, I much prefer ‘cozy’.

Hi Danna, just finding my way round the site, think I might be repeating myself! I wanted to recomend a thriller called “Happy Valley” on the BBC at the moment, not “cosy” but not graphic even though the events pretty awful. The acting is superb. esp. the Lead, Sarah Lancashire.
I’ve no telly so I watch on the BBCI player. There’ve been 4 episodes so far, each one more gripping than the last!

Hi, I just stumbled onto your web site. I love it. Thanks for such wonderful lists. I was hoping you could help me find an author. Her books include an older lady in in England(?). She has her dog who goes with her everywhere and an old car she has named (?). She shares her home with a photographer, and she helps in a thrift store. I have a series that is Brittish but, it’s not cozy. It’s set in London. It’s called the Maeve Kerrigan series and it’s by Jane Casey. The first book is called The burning. The main character is an mbicious workaholic police constable, and book 1 has her on the hunt for a serial killer dubbed The Burning Man. It’s not cozy, but, I enjoyed the first book, and I’ve fallen in love with the series.
