Please add Sharon Fiffer’s detective, Jane Wheel, to this list. I really enjoy Jane’s efforts to control her desire to collect things and balance career and family all while solving crime! Detective Oh has become one of my favorite supporting characters, as I’m never quite sure whose side he is on!

Welcome to the site, Emma. I’m glad you’re enjoying it. I added Sarah R. Shaber’s Professor Simon Shaw to the Carolyn Hart list yesterday. Thank you!

Several of my favorites are here. I love Jan Burke and her Irene Kelly series. The stories are a bit scarier than what I consider cozies, but the characters are very engaging and her home life is cozy. As I’ve said before, my love of books and series, in particular, is character driven. One author I think is missing on this list is Lee Harris. I read her Valentine’s Day Murder years ago and she got me started on the whole cozy genre. I went out and bought all her books and started from Book 1 and read all in order. I was hooked. My next authors were Jill Churchill and Leslie Meier. I read all types of books but the cozies are my comfort books and I devour them.

Mary Joy, other than the obvious Cozy authors (like Agatha Christie), I started with two of the very same Cozy authors you did, when I finally realized I really preferred Cozy Mysteries to all other genres. I don’t know who was first, but Leslie Meier and Jill Churchill were definitely two of my very first truly Cozy authors.

Pat B, each month I post a Mysteries New Releases entry. I’ll be posting Carolyn Hart’s next Death on Demand there, or as soon as I find it, I’ll put it on her page on the Cozy Mystery site.

My 90 year old Mom & I who are avid readers discovered your blog a few years ago. We have found so many wonderful new authors & series, thanks to your efforts. I know maintaining a blog is not an easy job so I wanted to take a moment to let you know you have two more fans who appreciate your work.
One quick question…we both enjoyed a series where the young woman lived with her three “retired from the mob” uncles that was, I believe, set in Chicago. We haven’t read one in a while and, unfortunately, neither one of us can remember who wrote the books. Is that, by any chance, enough info for you to identify the author? I looked through your list by themes but nothing jumped out at me. Between the two of us, we have literally read hundreds of cozies & after a while, it’s difficult to remember “who’s on first” when it comes to specifics.
I appreciate your thoughts on that particular author. If she doesn’t sound familiar, I will continue to look.
Thank you once again for your ongoing contribution to the reading community.
Linda

Linda S, I’m going to go write an entry asking for help. Hopefully someone will know who the author/series is!

Not sure if you’ve received an answer to your query but I think it might be Victoria Abbott. I think the first book in the series is The Christie Curse. Hope this helps.

The Chocoholic Mystery series by Joanna Carl. I fell in love with this series and just found the series ended in 2017 and there will be no more. I am so sad.
