Hi Danna, I stumbled across your site recently. Thank You…..I am thoroughly enjoying going through your lists and comments! I have added so many books to my TBR list (to be read)……cozies are my favorite! I love all of your very engaging discussions and look forward to posting my monthly Favs to share with all. What an awesome site….beautiful job! 🙂
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Welcome to the site, Kimmie. I’m looking forward to reading your “monthly Favs”. I have tried several new-to-me authors based on those monthly recommendations. I had never thought to do the monthly reco lists, but I’m sure glad people suggested it. I think we all benefit from seeing what others are reading and enjoying.
Marja says
How about that! I think I’ve just “met” another author to check out! (I love historical mysteries.) And I’m glad to see another in the “Jane Eyre Chronicles” – I really enjoyed the first one. Strange that series went from hardcover to paperback though. It usually goes the other way round.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Marja, these days, it’s difficult to guess what gets into the minds of publishers!
Diana says
Thanks so much for all the things that you do for the website. It is great, Danna.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Thank you for the kind words about the site, Diana.
Sheila says
What a wonderful list for April. After our mini snowstorm Friday in Connecticut it was a joy to see your e-mail announcing the books coming out in April. You are the best Danna.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Sheila, I hope you’re weather has improved 101%! I am astounded when I see things on television and the internet about how awful this winter has been for many people in the East coast.
linda c says
Wow Danna, What a wonderful list of new releases for April. I have been trying to teach myself to crochet and therefore only read just before I go to bed. I have most of the books from Jan, Feb and March to read. I have been just been reading the books that I have here at home instead of going to the libraries. My DH says that I will burn myself out on the crochet but I tell him, yes but I still will have my books to read. I have never in all my lifetime not had something to read or have given up on reading for any length of time.. Reading is my passion.
Hope everyone who contributes to this forum of yours has been safe from all of the storms that our country has been suffering from. It has been a good winter to just stay indoors and read, or crochet in my case. Thanks for the new releases list.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Linda C, the April list of new mystery book releases does look good, doesn’t it? I am so looking forward to Susie’s (Susanna Calkins) new book in her new mystery series. Yes, this is the very same Susie who participates right here.
(Please let us know how you are doing with your Kindle, when you have time between all your crocheting.)
linda c says
Danna, You know what, where I do like having my Kindle I find that I, myself, would rather just have an actual book in my hand. One thing is because it seems that like my cell phone, the charge runs out at the most inconvenient time. My books that I hold in my hand don’t seem to need recharging. I know that I sometimes need to renew the books at the library but that is easy enough.
I like my Kindle because it is easier to take along with me to places. All I need to do is to slip the Kindle into my purse and go. Some people that I have talked to say they don’t seem to misplace their own Kindle as much as they did the books but I would think because of the size of the Kindles misplacing it would be easier for me than a book would be. Since I buy a lot of my books at garage sales and library sales, losing a book is also a whole lot cheaper. I have lost a couple of library books and have had to pay for these books. But Kindles are a whole lot more expensive to replace. By having to pay for these lost books I have learned to be more careful. With that in mind I have been trying to be a whole lot more careful with my Kindle too.
I don’t know really why but I still find myself picking up a book long before I pick up my Kindle.
One thing that I have discovered that is a big help to me is I lost my plug that I use to charge my Kindle. But I have found that I can use the charger from my cell phone to recharge my Kindle. This is quite handy since the plug for the Kindle is about 25 bucks!!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Linda C, I know I’m not supposed to recharge my cell phone every day, but I do. I plug it in during the night. I find that I use it so often these days (calling my mother or someone who helps her) that I absolutely need to have it charged all of the time.
I’m glad to see that you have learned how to download books on your Kindle. Also, that was smart to try your cell phone charger for your Kindle!
Susie says
Thanks Danna!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Susie, I am so looking forward to your A Murder at Rosamund’s Gate, that I pre-ordered the Kindle version from Amazon. (I have never pre-ordered a Kindle mystery book before, so it will sort of be like Christmas in April – when I turn on my wireless connection on the 23rd.)
Jeanine says

That’s why I love reading so much Danna, there are so many different types of books to read, so many different authors that write about so many subjects. To me, anyone who really likes to read can find a lot of goods books to read. That is one of the main reasons that I love this forum of yours. You list so many different books with many different varieties of interest, that those of us who read your forum here can find something of interest. If we can’t find something of interest in this forum of yours then maybe we just don’t like to read as much as we think we do.
I love this forum of yours.. Thank you very much for all you do. You provide a very much appreciated and wanted service. You would probably fall over for all the pats on the back that you deserve.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Thanks for the kind words, Linda C!

I too am new to both crocheting and to cozies. I am left-handed, so the former is more challenging for me than for some folks. Fortunately I am already pretty good at turning pages. So cozies are a welcome relief from the frustrations of the crochet hook. Is there a cozy crochet series?

Danna, thank you for this wonderful web site! I found it by accident one day a little over a year ago. It is my go-to site for my cozy mystery books. From time to time, I’ll try reading other types of books, but I always come back to my cozies! I’m reading Margaret Grace’s Murder in Miniature at the moment. My father is going through a serious illness, and reading my cozies in the evenings is such a comfort for me right now.
Sharon

Thanks for setting up this site! I love cozy mysteries and constantly read them all through my time of chemo treatments for cancer. I am happy to say I am in remission from cancer, but not from cozy mysteries. This web site has helped me find more great authors to read. Once again, thanks and keep up the good work.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Susan J, I’m so glad that the Cozy Mystery site was able to help you find some good authors to spend your time with during your chemo treatments. Great news about your remission!

I read my way through chemo too, 10 years ago. Wish I had this site back then. Reading is a great way to release the negative feelings and stress everyone experiences during chemo. Good luck to you!

Iced Tea for Two: a sparrow falls mystery #3 is now available on kindle, nook and paperback.
Spring is in the air in friendly Sparrow Falls, North Carolina. The Ladies Garden Club is busy planting a tulip bed that will greet visitors at the entrance of the small southern town. Romance is in the air, in the form of a handsome dark eyed stranger who seems like a hero straight out of a paperback novel. And mystery fills the atmosphere, as pervasive as the overwhelming fragrance of magnolia blossoms. Even Tilda MacArdan, spry senior citizen sleuth, is seeing double, certain that she alone has spotted the long-lost identical twins who will inherit upon the impending death of rascally old millionaire Lachlan McGrady. . .

Thank you, Donna, for telling us about your Iced Tea for Two.
