I have just added four new Cozy Mystery authors to the Cozy Mystery site. Some of you who are new may wonder where I get the authors I post on my site. I get them from Cozy Mystery readers who have enjoyed their work and want to make sure other Cozy Mystery readers know about them.
Vannetta Chapman, a former teacher with a Master’s Degree in English, has worked as a pianist, church secretary, and an adjunct professor of English Literature. Chapman focuses heavily on faith in her works, and is the author of the Shipshewana Amish Mystery Series, the Amish Village Mystery Series, and the Jacobs Family Mystery Series.
Maya Corrigan is the author of the Five-Ingredient Mystery Series, starring Val Deniston, manager of a fitness club café, the Cool Down Café. (This Cozy Mystery series includes recipes.) Corrigan has taught college classes in writing and literature, designed online learning courses, and has written nonfiction. She lives near Washington D.C. >>> so she’s able to visit the Chesapeake Bay area setting of her series whenever she wants.
Colette London is the author of the Chocolate Whisperer Mystery Series starring Haydon Mundy Moore, a traveling chocolatier, luxury consultant, and amateur sleuth. (This Cozy Mystery series contains recipes.)
Rose Pressey pens multiple mystery series, many of which feature a paranormal element of some kind. Her best selling Haunted Vintage Mystery Series, features Cookie Chanel (the owner of a vintage clothing store) as its sleuth. Pressey also writes the Haunted Tour Guide Mystery Series, the Chase Charley Mystery Series, the Trash to Treasure Crafting Mystery Series, the Haunted Renovation Mystery Series, and the Maggie, PI Mystery Series.
Joyce Ann says
These books all look really good. I’m glad your readers are telling you about series in their comments. I’m reading Blueberry Muffin Murder by Joanne Fluke. Her bakery owner Hannah Swensen from Lake Eden, Minnesota is a great protagonist, and her series contains lots of decadent bakery recipes.

Joyce Ann, thanks for the Joanne Fluke shout-out. Actually, I don’t get the authors I post on the site from comments, I receive letters/notes from Cozy Mystery readers telling me about the authors they think I should put on the site and they usually tell me their reasons for liking the authors.
Janice M. says
I have a very strong feeling that Vannetta Chapman is about to become one of my favorite series authors!
How ‘cool’ is it that the Amish Village Mystery and the Shipshewana Amish (Quilt Shop) Mystery take place within an hours drive from where I live in Indiana?!?!
I have a very strong feeling that at least two roads trips could be in my future!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Janice M, what nice road trips! It takes us 1 1/2 days to get out of Texas. Not many fun road trips like yours are in our cards…

Joyce Ann, Joanne Fluke is going to have the movie out also with Hannah, that I think is the beginning of May on the Hallmark channel. cannot wait for that as I love the series.
Danna thank you for all you do!

Annette, I watched the latest two Garage Sale mystery movies from the Hallmark channel, and see they are really pushing the Hannah Swensen movie ads. I wonder if they are trying to acclimate us to the fact that Hannah is a thin, long-haired beauty a month before the movie airs…
Annette says
I hope not as in the book she is a “real” woman!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Annette, as a fan of Joanne Fluke’s Hannah Swensen mysteries, I’m a little sad at the fact they felt the necessity of “going Hollywood”, and totally changing Hannah’s physical description. In one of the books, I remember a persnickety director of a film calling her “chubby” in either the prologue or the first chapter of the book. He definitely did not refer to her as a tall, thin sort of gal!
In the past, I was pleased that the Hallmark channel sometimes used more “normal” sized actresses in their movies. However, after watching the Aurora Teagarden and the Garage Sale movies >>> I would say they have moved from that trend!
Annette says
I agree, I really did enjoy the teagarden mystery even though you always have that “picture” in your head. It would be like if anyone other then Angela Lansbury played Jessica. It is that picture you create in your head. I had never read the Garage sale mysteries so Lori Laughlin was good in it.
Cherlyn says
I just finished the Rose Pressey book. I really enjoyed it. It reminded me of the Ghost-In-Law series by Jana DeLeon
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Cherlyn, thank you for the Rose Pressey shout-out!
Stash Empress says
I’ve read both the Collette London & also the Rose Pressey & loved them both. Looking forward to seeing more from these authors.

Stash, thanks for letting the rest of us know about Colette London and Rose Pressey being so good!
maggie says
I’ ve read most of the Vannetta Chapman’s – she’s very interesting. The Amish are interesting…

Maggie, I’ve heard a lot of good things about Vannetta Chapman’s Amish mystery series. Thanks for the shout-out!
