Karen N. says
I love that you do this. I usually don’t find out about these great old movies until it’s too late. Thank you!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Karen, you’re very welcome!
Merrilee says
Wow!! I started to comment about two movies near the beginning, but then there became more and more I would have good comments about, so I end up with merely saying, “Wow.” Thanks for the compilation. What a lot of interesting movies!! I am glad to know about them!! The first TWO comments I was going to make are that I was glad to see the movies Ann Sothern would be in. I liked her very much from her TV show way back in the 50’s. And people think it is funny of me, but I always liked Bruce Dern because of his playing “John” in “Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte.” I liked him very much in that part. Short time on screen, but it appealed to me….Then, so many other terrific movies to watch in addition to that. I’m glad I renewed my membership to cable this March. I had quit last September. Fun times coming up, and I get to experience them again.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Merrilee, it’s definitely a good list, so I’m not surprised it prompted a number of potential comments for you! Hush Hush, Sweet Charlotte is certainly a good movie – you know I’m always a fan of Bette Davis!
Merrilee says
The theme song, “Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte,” for that movie is a pretty song, and haunting.
Liz Kasprzak says
ThiS is awesome….more please..Mrs.K.M
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Liz, I’ll be back next month with another list!
Bek says
LOL, Dana, you are an evil woman! If I actually watch all of the movies that I’ve written down to record, I won’t have time to read all of the books you’ve told me about that are now on my “must have” list! Well…at least with the movies, I can fast-forward through the commercials!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Bek, well, at least you’ll have something to do as a break from all the reading!
Diane says
Love all the series! My favorites are The Thin Man and The Saint. I liked the old Saint movies, but I loved the Roger Moore TV series, The Saint. Thanks for the titles and dates. Diane Z
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Diane, you’re welcome!
Bek says
OOOOH! YES! When I was a kid, and a young teen, I remember getting that little shiver up my spin when I would here the theme song play! You couldn’t budge me from in front of the television!
Susy says
Same here. I loved him in that role.
I really don’t watch TV. I go to bed much too early and it would cut into my reading time, but once I retire, I will be taking full advantage of these lists.
Patti Smith says
I love he Maise movies and the Gildersleeve ones. I wish in the Gildersleeve movies they would have had Leroy and Marjorie played by the actors that voiced them on the radio. Can’t wait to watch them.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Patti, I’m glad you’ll have something to look forward to next month!
Deb says
DB
Love this list!!! Looking forward to many, wish I could watch them all!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Deb, I hope you can watch as many as possible!
Mady says
Thank you so much for doing this! This is the only movie channel I watch. Stage Fright is one of my favorites!

Mady, you’re welcome!
