Let’s take a look and see what old, black and white mystery movies will be airing this month. I am an avid fan of old movies, and the TCM channel seems to be the network that I find most of them playing.
Here is the list of the upcoming television mystery movies that I have been able to find which will air on the Turner Classic Movie channel (TCM). (I go through my TCM Now Playing guide to find them.)
As usual, I must tell you that I have not seen all of the movies on this list, so I can’t vouch for all of them. Also, since I live in the Central time zone, it’s just easier for me to list them in that time frame. If you know of any other mystery movies that are going to be aired on television during July 2013, please post a comment.

Hilary says
One of my favorite actors, John Mills is in a great murder mystery – the Long Memory. It’s fantastic. He is in my all time favorite movie too – Hobson’s Choice -not a mystery by a long shot. I wish these were available on DVD.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Hilary, my husband and I just watched Hobson’s Choice. Actually I should say we both started watching it, but my husband stopped watching it because he thought the beginning was slow. After I finished the movie, I told him he had missed a really good movie. The movie’s direction really surprised me.
(My mother had a cousin who never married. She dedicated her life to teaching school during the day and taking care of her parents all the rest of the time. She had a “beau” who they disapproved of, and I often wondered what would have happened had she stood up to her domineering parents.)
Donna says
Wow, so many great films in one month! I drop everything and watch The Bad Seed every time it airs – that is one excellent film. And The Wrong Box is absolutely hilarious! That is another one I will make a point to watch.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Donna, The Bad Seed is chilling, isn’t it?
Nikki says
Gaslight is possibly the most suspenseful movie ever. Don’t miss it. Especially great is Angela Landsbury as the maid. She was so young but already terrific.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Nikki, I may just have to re-watch Gaslight this month.
Laura says
Thanks so much for the TCM movie reminder. My husband and I really enjoyed “Dial M for Murder” and “The Lady Vanishes”, which we had not seen before. It’s been too hot to concentrate on reading, so we have been glad to have a back stock of movies on the DVR.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Laura, I watched Dial M for Murder years ago, and remember how surprised I was. Definitely a classic.
My husband and I have been watching more and more old TCM movies lately. I am so glad he finally decided they are his new favorites. I used to have to watch them alone. But, since he is just starting to watch them, that means I am watching a lot of them for the second, third, or even fourth times. Even though they were made before I was born, I doubt I would want to watch a lot of the movies they are making today that many times! (Hope that makes sense!)
