The Turner Classic Movies channel will be honoring teachers on the first of September. Who knew there were so many teacher-themed movies. Because they aren’t mystery movies I didn’t include them in the month’s schedule >>> but I thought some of you might want to check them out on their schedule.
There’s another little “who knew?” thing I found that will be on Friday, September 17. There are a whole lot of mystery movies that feature magic or magicians. I’ve never cared for magic, but I sure like mysteries >>> so maybe I should reconsider my I-can-take-it-or-leave-it opinion on magic!
On the official first day of autumn (Wednesday, September 22) the channel will be featuring movies with the word “autumn” in their titles. We moved down here to Texas from the north, and since then, I have looked forward to the fall. I miss the beautiful fall colors! Because of this, I especially enjoy sprinkling the few autumnal items I own around the house – reminding me that even without the beautiful yellow, orange, and red leaves, fall is here! Now Turner Classic Movies is getting in on the “Autumn’s Here” bandwagon. (These movies with the word “autumn” in them are followed by several good-for-Halloween black and white movies.)
Also, good news for those of you who enjoy Eddie Muller’s Noir Alley on the Turner Classic Movies channel… He’s back! There’s always a void when he’s not around…

Moira, you’re welcome!

You mention ;magic & Magician’ movies. One of my favourite cozy series features a stage magician. ‘The Great Merlini.’
The books were written in the 1930’s by Clayton Rawson and are mostly ‘locked room’ type mysteries, where Merlini figures things out through his knowledge of stage trickery and sleight of hand tricks.
Not so easy to find, although they have been reprinted several times, but highly recommended if you can find them!

Susan, I’ll have to keep an eye out for that series!
