As I told you several days ago, my October television movies are going to be a little different. I have just posted them Upcoming Television Mystery Movies that will be airing this month, but now I want to tell you about some Halloween Television movies that will be airing during October 2014.
I have broken this entry into three Paranormal categories (well, actually there are four categories since I found a Christmas movie that will be airing this month): Ghosts, Halloween/Horror, and Vampires.
I have gone through the Turner Classic Movies channel, as well as the Hallmark Movie channel mystery movies. Also, I took a look at what I could on the Hallmark Channel, and for all of you fans of The Good Witch – I have posted the Hallmark Channel’s marathon at the very bottom of the entry. This year will be bringing us a new movie in the series. I know there are more than a few of you who (like me) enjoy that Hallmark movie series!
You will see that I highlighted Vincent Price every time he appears in a movie this month. What can I say? Lists of Halloween movies just don’t seem complete without his (sometimes quite campy!) appearances.
If you know of any other Television Halloween Movie that will be airing during the month (October), please post a comment. We’d all love to know about it. Thank you!

Where are the Halloweentown movies this year?
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Aunthoot, I’m sorry, but I don’t know if they are showing them this year. if you tell me the channel they ususally air them on, I’ll go see if I can find them.
Gina says
The halloweentown movies are airing on Disney on 10/13 and 10/14, with 2 movies airing each night at 6:25 and 8:00 p.m.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Gina, thank you for letting us know about these Halloweentown movies. I have never seen them, but enjoy Debbie Reynolds a lot.
I have tried and tried to access the Disney channel’s schedule, but their website is very difficult to maneuver for information…
Thank you!
Anne says
“The Haunting” is brilliant – scared the life out of me. “The Village of the Dammed” is an adaptation of “The Midwich Cuckoos” by John Wyndham who also wrote “The Day of the Triffids” and several other quite good S.F. books.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Anne, I remember The Haunting gave me the eebbee-geebbies!
Kimmie says
LOVE…..LOVE The Good Witch Series!! Thank You Danna! I am going to set my DVR when I get off of work. I know already that Saturday is going to be a lazy one for me. I never get anything done when watching this series! (Which is not necessarily a bad thing).
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Kimmie, it’s too bad we have to wait until Saturday the 25th! I’m looking forward to this year’s new one Good Witch movie. It’s been fun watching as the family changes.
Amy says
I’d never heard of this series but look forward to watching it!
Thanks for all you do!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Amy, the Good Witch series is a feel-good series with a light touch of the paranormal in them. They’re sort of like the Mrs. Miracle movies from the same channel…
Laurel says
The Others is one of my very favorites!! I have it on DVD and watch it all the time. I like that it’s in the style of a classic ghost story and it doesn’t have any gore or blood in it. It’s a good story that can carry itself without having to use special effects to keep you interested.
Cyn says
I so agree with you about this film! It has a believability about it. I encourage readers to check this film out!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Laurel, I remember seeing this way back in 2001 – just two years after seeing The Sixth Sense. Loved both of them!
Tessa~ says
Thank you for the whole list, of course.
But especially, for “The Good Witch” info. I love her!!!!!
Tessa~
“Here there be musing” blog
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Tessa, I came to The Good Witch movies quite late in the game. I had missed the first few years of them, and was glad I was able to catch up with them later on during a marathon. They are such feel-good movies!
Laurel says
I saw on the Hallmark Channel the other night that there’s going to be a The Good Witch tv series. So excited!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Laurel, please keep us posted on that!
Laurel says
Absolutely! Hallmark is starting the series with 10 episodes and it’s supposed to premiere early next year. The preview I saw made it appear that, with the exception of Chris Potter, maybe the full cast wasn’t going to be involved. I hope they don’t deviate too much from the movies, but I’m excited to see it.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Laurel, it should be interesting to see what they end up doing. It’s such a successful franchise with the one holiday season movie >>> I wonder if it will fly as a weekly series.
Laura says
You are seriously tempting me to get more tv channels
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Laura, oh, I’m sorry. Well at least you must get PBS!
mary says
Hello. A number of the movies you have shown here are big favourites of mine, particularly the older ones. Topper series for instance. Although these movies may get a bit more attention around the Halloween period….don’t stop there! These are classics, with wonderful characters! Let’s remind ourselves to not “niche” them, but expect and enjoy watching all year round.
oh, another classic, not on this list…but sure to turn up…Arsenic and Old Lace. Boo to you all!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Mary, you’re right about some of the paranormal movies being year-round fare.
