Two New Cozy Series and One Holiday-Themed Cozy Coming May 2018

May will have a mix of a few new Cozy Mystery Series and a new holiday-themed Cozy Mystery release, an Oktoberfest release!

First, the Oktoberfest release will be Bear Witness to Murder, the second in Meg Macy‘s Teddy Bear Mystery Series. October in the small town of Silver Hollow is the occasion of the village’s Oktobear Fest, a teddy-bear themed variation of the more common Oktoberfest. Silver Bear Shop and Factory manager Sasha Silverman’s part in the festivities will be hosting the Cranbeary Tea Party, but her planning is interrupted several times – first by the return of an old high school rival, and a second time when the rival’s assistant turns up stabbed to death! Meg Macy is one half of the writing pseudonym D. E. Ireland, the author credited with the Eliza Doolittle & Henry Higgins Mystery Series.

For the new series, Amanda Flower will be starting the Magic Garden Mystery Series with first entry Flowers and Foul Play. Fiona Knox has just reached a crossroads in life, having lost her fiance and her flower shop business at one time, when her godfather’s death takes her to Scotland to inherit his cottage and walled garden, which may be more than it appears. However, the situation is even further complicated when a body is found in the garden! Amanda Flower writes many other series, including (but not limited to!) the Amish Candy Shop Mystery Series, the Living History Museum Mystery Series, the Magical Bookshop Mystery Series, and the Appleseed Creek Mystery Series.

Finally, the other new series will be Claire O’Donohue‘s World of Spies Mystery Series, starting with Beyond the Pale. Hollis and Finn Larson, married college professors, have been temporarily recruited by Interpol for what should be a very simple job – just procure a rare manuscript, one that is well within their actual area of academic interest. But when the contact they are supposed to exchange the money for the manuscript fails to arrive, they quickly find themselves in more danger than they had expected! Claire O’Donohue also writes the Someday Quilts Mystery Series and the Kate Conway Mystery Series.

    I recently read the first installment in Meg Macy’s Shamelessly Adorable Teddy Bear Mystery series, “Bearly Departed”.

    The two new series both sound interesting…it seems like they’ll be good ones. 🙂

  2. OOOOOH! The Magic Garden series sounds right up my ally! A bit of magic, and set in Scotland! ANOTHER SERIES ON THE LIST! LOL, I just checked my Goodreads list, where I keep EVERYTHING I have or want to have, and the total of both lists is currently around 1350. Of that number, fully 2/3 are cozies!

    I just did some measuring, and I have space to replace three smaller bookcases with significantly larger ones, AND the smaller ones will fit in the dining room without having to get rid of the table! I thought that might be a fitting place to shelve my cookbooks AND my cozies that include recipies! AND I can use the tops of those for my smaller Blue Willow serving pieces! THIS CAN WORK!

    • Bek – think UP. I have replaced all of my short bookcases with some that are 7 feet tall. Since I am looking at a new home in retirement, I am going for really high ceilings and, when I have the money, I will have floor to ceiling book cases built. If I can get 12 feet high, that will nearly double my normal capacity and 14 would get me to double. This will require a library ladder and rails for it, but that just adds to the library vibe.
