Can you believe it’s almost 2016! It seems like only yesterday when we were celebrating the new millennium, and that was 16 years ago!
Back to Cozy Mysteries! Three Cozy Mystery authors will be starting new series this January:
First is Bailey Cattrell‘s Enchanted Garden Mystery Series, which will be beginning with Daisies for Innocence. This novel will introduce Elliana (Ellie) Allbright and her perfume shop in Poppyville, California. When her part-time assistant (Josie) starts dating her ex and turns up mysteriously dead, Ellie will need to find the real culprit before she becomes the prime suspect herself! Bailey Cattrell also writes the Magical Bakery Mystery Series as Bailey Cates and the Home Crafting Mystery Series as Cricket McRae.
Next up will be Dani Pettrey‘s Cold Shot, the 1st in her new Chesapeake Valor Series. In this romantic suspense series, we will be introduced to Griffin McCray, a former SWAT-team sniper and current park ranger at Gettysburg. When a pair of relic hunters uncover a suspiciously fresh corpse near the Little Round Top, Griffin will need to call on current and past skills to help discover the killer. Dani Pettrey also writes the Alaskan Courage Mystery Series, a romantic suspense series starring various members of the McKenna family in Yancey, Alaska.
Finally will be Paige Shelton‘s To Helvetica and Back, the 1st in the new Dangerous Type Mystery Series. This novel will star Clare Henry, assistant typewriter repairer to her grandfather Chester. When a stranger who tried to force Clare to hand over an antique typewriter they are repairing for another customer turns up dead, Clare will need to solve the case for her own peace of mind. Paige Shelton also writes the Farmers’ Market Mystery Series and the Country Cooking School Mystery Series.
As always you can check out these books (and many more!) on the New Cozy Mystery Book Series page.

The Enchanted Garden series sounds promising. Wonder if its going to be a “para-cozy” like her Magical Bakery series?

I was wondering the same thing. I really like the Magical Bakery series so I’m excited for the author to have a new series. That one is definitely on my list!

Well, it’s called the ‘Enchanted’ Garden… so it seems likely. 🙂
Btw, CuppaCozy, I love your screen name!

Danna, I have been saying almost the very same thing this whole past week–where has this year gone!! ?? What was the big hurry!!?? Sixteen years have gone by in this new century already !!!.
Someone who was about 40 years old said she did believe the saying that as a person got older the time goes faster. I told her to wait until she retires and see how fast the time goes !!
My days go so fast that it is unbelievable!! I think that it is because I try to put all of those things that I didn’t get to do while raising my kids and working into those days. I am having a great time though. I just wish I didn’t have all the body aches and complaints that I have.
I had cataract surgery in September that has helped me to be able to read and watch TV a whole lot better. After a few hours the words and the pictures on the TV were all becoming too blurry.
I am having a little difficulty reading highway road signs so I will need glasses sometime in the not so distant future. But those will come in time. I just don’t drive if I don’t know where I am going.
I have been reading some this past fall but almost all of my reading has been done at bedtime. I am crocheting my immediate family members couch throws for Christmas this year and I just haven’t had much time to read .
My problem with that is I just picked up John Grisham’s “Rogue Lawyer” this morning. I had it on request for almost two months. I still have 2 and a third couch throws to crochet before Christmas. I don’t know if you remember me saying this or not but in this past whenever I have a John Grisham book to read Nothing and I mean NOTHING else gets done around here until that book is read!!
I had Sue Grafton’s latest book “X” on request for a long time. When I placed my request in at the library there were 122 people ahead of me waiting for the book. It took me over two months to get to read the book !! When I finally got to read the book it was so good that I stayed up until 3 a.m. to finish reading it!! I was a little bit sleepy in church that morning!!
One thing about this Sue Grafton book———— it ended with a cliff hanger. So, we fans of hers will rest assured there will be at least one more book in this series.

Linda C, I remember how much you enjoy John Grisham’s mysteries. Not Cozy, but good!
I’m glad you hear your still reading your mysteries, even though you have cut down quite a bit. Also, I am guessing you are quite the crocheter now! I know it’s been several years since you started crocheting.
