I know this is way early, but I thought I would tell you about a cookbook that is being released in April. (I told you I’m a little early with this!)
The Cozy Cookbook: More than 100 Recipes from Today’s Bestselling Mystery Authors will be published, and wait until you see who the contributing Cozy Mystery authors are!
Avery Aames/Daryl Wood Gerber
Ellery Adams/J.B. Stanley/Jennifer Stanley
Cleo Coyle/Alice Kimberly
Victoria Hamilton/Amanda Cooper
Jenn McKinlay/Josie Belle/Lucy Lawrence
How’s that for a great cast of Cozy characters who love to bake/cook/prepare delicious Cozy delectables? The Cozy Cookbook has more than 100 recipes, which cover appetizers, entrées, and desserts.
(Now I have to go add this terrific-looking The Cozy Cookbook to all of the Cozy authors pages – as well as the Culinary theme – on the Cozy Mystery site!)
Jenny says
AAAAAHHHH!!! MUST HAVE THIS!!! Thank you So much!
This is my very favorite sub-genre. One of my very favorites is Peter King. He doesn’t exactly GIVE you the recipes: you have to figure it out (making it a sort of double mystery) from hints like, “He threw in a bit of thyme.” I’ve found some really exciting new treats “messing” with his ideas.
Again, thank you for this
Jackie J. Griffey says
Danna: Can’t believe Diane Mott Davidson wasn’t on your ‘recipes’ list! I grab it every time she has a new one out. My daughter and I both enjoy her catering troubles right along with her recipes.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Jackie, you make a good point about Diane Mott Davidson not being on the list, and how about Katherine Hall Page?
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Jenny, Peter King’s Gourmet Detective’s method of giving the recipe sounds like fun, if you know you’re way around the kitchen. It does sound like double mystery!
Kim says
And Jenny, care to share your discovered treats?
Fun to share a few special discoveries. For my contribution, a hint for chocolate chip or sugar cookies, add a very tiny pinch of salt to the top of cookie before baking. The contrast of salt and sweet gives a wonderful kick to the chocolate or even plain cookie.
Another hint that perhaps many of you already know…when making soups, sauté the veggies in butter or olive oil with spices over medium heat before adding water soluble liquids such as chicken broth. The butter or other fat is better able to penetrate the veggie, adding flavor to it. If spices are added later to entire pot, they do not penetrate or flavor the veggies as well.

Kim, thanks for the tips about the pinch of salt on top of fresh cookies and the spices going in to the olive oil/butter with the veggies >>> before adding the broth.
Christi says
I will definitely be on the look-out for this. Culinary mysteries are my favorite, so I know there will be some great recipes in this book.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Christi, in the write-up about this cookbook it says it’s doesn’t just feature the over 100 recipes. It does sound like fun.
Ronna says
I’ve gotten a couple of other cozy book author recipes and love them. Can’t wait to get this one. Recognize a couple of authors that I’ve been hoping would do just this. Yeah!!!!
Jackie J. Griffey says
Forgot to mention that Cleo Coyle is right up there at the top of our favorite cozy authors list!
Jackie

Jackie, I’m also glad Cleo Coyle is one of the authors in The Cozy Cookbook.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Ronna, it seems like more and more cookbooks are being put out by Culinary Cozy Mystery authors.
Billie says
You will remind us of this again closer to April. And Christi I like culinary cozies too. Did any body mention Joanne Fluke?
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Billie, I’ll remind us about The Cozy Cookbook being released in April, and right now I have it posted on the Soon to be Released Mysteries page on the Cozy Mystery site. (If you click on this highlighted link, it will take you to that page on my site.)
