Here are the four newest additions to the Cozy Mystery site. Remember that they have been recommended for me to add to the site by site readers. I have asked people to only recommend Cozy Mystery authors, as I add authors to the site without having actually read them … yet!
Robin Allen: Poppy Markham: Culinary Cop Mystery Series. I believe that this is actually the first of its “culinary type” mystery. This series features a health inspector in Austin.
Sofie Kelly: Magical Cats Mystery Series. This series is set in Minnesota, and features a librarian who solves mysteries with the help of her two previously stray, magical cats.
Leslie Kohler: Kohler writes Stand Alone mysteries. The first (Sins of the Border) is set in Scottsdale, Arizona. It features a suburbs’ mom who uses her ex-reporter skills in this case regarding illegal immigration.
Roz Siegel: Emily’s Place Mystery Series. The sleuth in this series is the owner of a high-end shoe shop that serves as a meeting place for lovers of fashionable shoes. Unfortunately, one of the stilettos is used for more than its intended purpose.

I loved Sofie Kelly’s first book and am anxiously awaiting the 2nd one. Am thoroughly enjoying Denise Swanson’s Scumble River cozy mysteries and have ordered both Mary Saums’ Thistle & Twigg mysteries. Am on vacation next week and plan to ‘nest’ on my couch with my sweet iced tea and my books and ‘chill out’!!! My twin sister & I celebrate our birthdays the next week and have already ‘gifted’ each other with our favorite authors!

Petie, I hope you have a great time celebrating your mutual birthday AND reading your mysteries!
Donna says
I’ll be adding these to my list of summer reads. Alas, if only the summer would go on forever, I might be able to catch up!
Robin Allen says
Thank you for adding me to your website. Yes, I’m pretty sure this is the first series to feature a public health inspector. My books are clean and humorous, and give you a behind-the-scenes view of the food service industry.
Rabia says
I just checked your book out from the library and I am looking forward to enjoying a great read.
Robin Allen says
Thanks, Rabia!

Hi Robin, and welcome to the site! What a novel idea to have a public health inspector as your sleuth. Also, there are a lot of Cozy Mystery site readers who write to me and ask me for “clean and humorous” mysteries…
Robin Allen says
Thanks, Danna. I’m happy to be added to your list of recommendations!
Sofie Kelly says
Thanks for adding me to your website.
Petie, thanks for the kind comments about Curiosity Thrilled the Cat.

Welcome to the site, Sofie! I see that your second Magical Cats Mystery (Sleight of Paw) is due to be published in September. I feel like I got you posted not a minute too soon…
Elaine says
I just love this site. I love mysteries but cozies are the best. Keep up the good work as I love to discover new mystery author’s.
I just read Robin’s book & it was great. Loved the characters and the story line.
I have Sofie’s book to read & since I love animals I feel confident that I will enjoy it.
Robin Allen says
Thanks, Elaine! I’m always happy to hear nice things about my book. The second one, Stick a Fork In It, is coming out next year.
Loretta says
It would be nice if readers could comment about an author or book by the listing of that author or title. For instance although I thought the Charlain Harris book about Lily Bard that i read was good it had explicit sex so i wouldn’t read any others. It would be nice to have a heads up on this so readers could make some decisions before buying or reading the books. it’s not censorship-we can still choose but it would be like a movie rating-has sex or adult situations or language etc.

Great idea, Loretta, except what is unacceptable to one person may be OK with another. How would you differentiate between, say, an author who uses the “SH” word and an author who uses the “F” word a lot?
Roz Siegel says
Thanks so much for listing Goodie One Shoes. I had a lot of fun writing about shoes and Emily’s Place, a kind of Starbucks for women who love shoes. Most shoestores are boring, but this one is filled with all the colorful characters that make Manhattan’s Upper West Side such a vibrant place. Even the manikins in the window have personality. Hope cozy readers embrace it. Best, Roz Siegel

I am glad to have posted your Emily’s Place Mystery series. We’re always on the look out for new Cozy Mystery series…
Ronald S. Barrios says
I’ll have to check on these authors as I’m always looking for new authors to get into. I’m wondering if their novels are available on Kindle…
Robin Allen says
Hi Ronald:
Yes, my clean, humorous amateur sleuth mystery, If You Can’t Stand the Heat, is available on Kindle, Nook, and eBook. For one week (7/20-7/27) Amazon is running a promotion and selling my book for only #2.99.

If you enjoyed Sophie Kelly’s Magical Cats Mystery Series, you’ll also enjoy Leanne Sweeney’s Cats in Trouble Series. There are currently three books. the Heroine is an early forties recently widowed cat lover. Having rescued her “babies” from Hurricane Katrina shelters. She is kind-hearted and of course a natural sleuth. Ms Sweeney’s detail into the cats personalities as well as her knowledge of specific breeds only adds in drawing you in to the story. Can’t wait for number four.

Thank you, Veronica, for the endorsement of both Sophie Kelly and Leanne Sweeney.
