It’s time, once again, to set up your favorite mode of taping. Either that, or be sure to be sitting in front of your television set, with your popcorn already popped, tomorrow night.
Your local PBS stations should be starting Series V of the Inspector Lewis episodes on Sunday, July 8, 2012. Inspector Lewis (Kevin Whately) and his trusty sidekick Detective Sergeant Hathaway (Laurence Fox) will be back solving crimes for four consecutive Sunday nights.
Inspector Lewis, Series V:
The Soul of Genius – July 8, 2012
Generation of Vipers – July 15, 2012
Fearful Symmetry – July 22, 2012
The Indelible Stain – July 29, 2012
And, for those of you who may have missed a few of the Inspector Lewis shows from Series IV, they will be re-airing two of the shows:
The Mind Has Mountains – Aug. 26, 2012
The Gift of Promise – Sept. 2, 2012
So, go get your taping machines ready!

Thanks for the info. I’d forgotten this was coming up and I love Inspector Lewis and his sidekick.

Midsomer Murders on Fridays, Miss Marple on Saturdays, and now Inspector Lewis on Sundays. I love PBS!

Deb, your PBS station sounds great. We are being treated to Inspector Lewis on Sundays, but no Miss Marple or Midsomer Murders for us.

This is slightly OT (off topic, not Old Timers, which is what I used to think it meant!) but I was just surfing Amazon and found this series. I don’t remember it but it’s gotten great reviews and sounds like something cozy-mystery folks would like! Just wanted to tip you off in case you would like to link to it. The Snoop Sisters, starring Helen Hayes, I loved her Miss Marple movies.

Thanks, Donna. Here is the link to The Snoop Sisters on Amazon. I did a little snooping around and found that it was part of The NBC Wednesday Night Mystery Movie rotation. The rotation included such shows as The Bold Ones, McCloud, Columbo, McMillan & Wife, Banacek, Quincy, M. E., Lanigan’s Rabbi, and of course, The Snoop Sisters.
It’s a shame one of the major networks can’t do a rotation with these types of shows today! I guess they are a lot more expensive to produce than to have a bunch of “stars” rating people’s dancing, singing, ukulele playing, etc.

Whoa! Did you recognize the first victim in The Indelible Stain? It took me awhile to figure out that it was David Soul! And – no spoilers here – but the red secret word referred to one of his most famous characters on American TV. 🙂 Wonder how he landed a role on a British made mystery series?

Donna, thanks for the David Soul information. I am one week behind on my Inspector Lewis shows, so I’ll be sure to watch for him.
