Cozy Mystery Book Recommendations – December 2015
Would you please tell us about the really good Cozy Mysteries you read during December, and please tell us why you liked them so much. (They don’t have to be Christmas Cozies!) These should be the Cozies you thought were better than the other Cozies you read this month. This is a great way for the rest of us to sort of put those authors on our Cozy Mystery radar. (If we don’t already know about them!) Please list the ones you liked the most at the very top of the list, that way we’ll know those are the ones you liked the most.

Cozy Mystery Authors with No Profanity/Swearing, Please…
Here’s part of another letter that I received from a Cozy Mystery readers. Deborah asks:
… I wanted to know if you do, or if you could stipulate which novels are more appropriate for younger readers. I note that you mentioned on your blog that more and more, authors are using profanity, etc. I for one do not appreciate this, and my 12 year old daughter, who reads well beyond her grade level, loves mysteries, but not the vulgarities.
When I first read this letter, I thought immediately of these two theme entries and this Cozy Mystery series:
Mystery Books with No Profanity (Swearing) and/or Faith-Based Mystery Books
Margaret Grace (aka Camille Minichino, Ada Madison, & Jean Flowers): Miniature Mystery Series (no profanity and the main character’s granddaughter and sidekick is a preteen)
I also thought about asking you ALL if you can think of one, two, or maybe three Cozy Mystery authors who you think would be great for Deborah to begin checking out for her daughter. If you can think of an author who you think qualifies for this question, please post a comment. Thank you!

I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful, safe, and happy Christmas. I feel so lucky to have both our daughter and son with us to celebrate this wondrous holiday. (I always feel like all is right in the world when the four of us are together again.)
We have our Christmas puzzle all set up and are just sort of taking things easy today. I decided to not complicate the menu this year so I wouldn’t be stuck in the kitchen all day, so I was able to get some of the items ready yesterday. I always try to incorporate a recipe from my grandmother and another recipe from my mother, to give the meal a nostalgic, family feel to it. Growing up I certainly took a lot of the meal preparation for granted, and still remember my grandmother spending hours and hours getting everything prepared. Perhaps this is the type of thing we all think about as we grow older…
