Danna, you are the best! I can’t even imagine the amount of time you
spend keeping us up to date on all things cozy. Much appreciation.

PamB, thanks for your thanks!

A number of years ago I subscribed to a newsletter called Murder Most Cozy. It was mailed every other month, I think. It was full of info on new cozies, series, authors, etc. A great way to keep up with old favorites and be introduced to new. The woman stopped publishing it after several years. This blog is a wonderful replacement for that newsletter.

Karen, thanks for the kind words. I am glad you find the site and the blog useful.

Thank you for this month’s reminder on the books being released in September. I always write them down on paper … and then misplace the paper. As Pam B said you are the best. I second that opinion.

Sheila, thanks for the kind words, and I’m glad my lists can help you out!

Thanks for all you do with ALL your lists. I like the lists that you give us ahead of time so I can add them to my TBR list. I know that sometimes publishing dates change so the current list helps me make sure my list is correct. Since I do a LOT of reading, I need all the help I can get to stay up to date.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Jacki, I’m glad I can help you keep your reading lists straight!

Funny story………………
Ironically, I saw the book, “Cheddar Off Dead” at this site’s sidebar last month. True to the ‘tradition’ (as discussed a few weeks ago) of the cover and title piquing an interest, I clicked on it to check it out.
I found that the first book in this series is “the Big Chili”. Since it’s the first in a new series I decided to put a hold on it at my library. I kept clicking on hold several times and it wouldn’t let me do it. I went out of the site, came back in and tried again. And, it still wouldn’t let me put the hold on it!
WELL, that was then I noticed (duh!) the ‘pop-up’ that stated, ”the patron already has this book”. HUH? I went to my TBR pile and sure enough it was there!!! How dumb is that?!! I must have seen it recommended on this site earlier, picked it up, and set it aside.
I read it late last week in a day or so and thought it was good. So am looking forward to “Cheddar Off Dead”, cover art work, title, and all!!!
Since you used the word ‘discuss’ in your intro on this topic, I’m not sure what you meant, or if you intended to elicit a discussion of these particular books.
But, I will add that the first book in the Jean Flowers series “Death Takes Priority” was very good and I recommended it at the time. I expect this new one will be equally as enjoyable, as are all the books I’ve read by this author (and pseudonyms).
I like (as do many of this blog’s readers) both of Denise Swanson’s series (although I enjoy the dime store series a bit more). Both of her series always involve humorous dialogue and situations. I will definitely read this latest addition to the Scumble River series.

MJ, now that IS a funny story. Sort of like counting your chickens before they hatch, yet they’re already in the barnyard pecking out their corn. (Where in the world did I get that analogy?!)
Thank you for letting us know about how good Jean Flowers’ new series is. I haven’t started reading it yet, but I’m sure I will, since I read all of Camille Minichino’s series – as you say, author (and pseudonyms).
And, aren’t we always ready for a good Cozy book discussion!

Thanks for breaking down the new releases this way. I hope this is something you continue. I always enjoy viewing what’s coming up next month but then I have to either go one by one and check the release date or go to another site for the breakdown (promise im not cheating on cozy mystery!)
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Bec, I am probably going to continue with these posts weekly (usually on Monday) at least for a while.

Speaking of E.J. Copperman, a few weeks ago you recommended his Haunted Guesthouse series. I tried the first one and am now on the sixth one. I love these books! They are the kind of book that I don’t want to put down but keep reading until I finish. The characters are all interesting, and Alison has quite a dry sense of humor. She’s just downright funny sometimes. Kind of sad that I only have two left to read, but then I’ll have to try his Asperger’s Mystery series. Thanks so much for recommending this series, as well as all the work you do. It is definitely appreciated! Don’t know what I’d do without your recommendations.
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Katy, I’m glad that one of my recommendations helped you find a series that you enjoy so much! I haven’t tried the Asperger’s Mystery Series yet myself – I’ve got such a long list of books I want to read – so please let me know how it goes!
