Mine too, except I am trying really hard not to buy anything for a while. I just packed up another box of unread books that I have to move to the other side of the country in just two months. There are four on this list that I want, but if I can hold off until February, I will probably be able to buy them very inexpensively.
Does it sound bad to say that I hope this is the last Stephanie Plum book? She was a lot of fun for the first 15 to 18 books, but noticed in 19 that I am tired of her dithering between men and not really being a grown up.
Bek says
LOL, I hear you, Susy S, on BOTH counts! I have over 600 books. I don’t even want to think about moving!
As for the Stephanie Plums, I so agree. You do know that you’re allowed to “break up” with her, right? I’ve finally learned to abandon a series when I think, “Is this ever going to end?” I learned that about the time I realized that I do NOT have to look at a text the minute it comes in!
Susy S says
I have stopped buying her and let people give them to me. I can read them pretty fast, so it is not a great loss of time. I just want to know how it ends, so I hope this is the last book in the series.

I think I actually said, “It’s been lovely, but have a nice life” about 2 books ago. I just couldn’t do it anymore. I learned to do this after slogging through ALL of the G.R.R. Martin books to date, thinking “THANK GOD,” and then finding out there are more being written. I just canNOT read another one! Even not knowing is better than doing that again! Sometimes you just scream “SAVE YOURSELVES” and run for the door!
Susy S says
I had already decided that 25 was it for me. If she can’t end this thing herself, I am ending it. There too many new books and new series that I want to read.
I wish I ‘only’ had 600 books. My spreadsheets tell me I have more than 2500 and that about 1000 are still waiting to be read. I have read over 100 so far this year (while packing, getting the house ready to sell and working), so I figure I can easily hit 200 per year when I retire. It will only take 5 years to catch-up. assuming I don’t buy any more books (right, like that is going to happen) and don’t waste too much time on the computer.
Bek says
LOL, I’m convinced that I MUST win a lottery to afford housing for the books on my “Must Have” list! And I only keep the ones that I’m sure I’ll read and re-read. All others go to my neighborhood convalescent center, which has doubled its library. Well, almost all. A few non-cozies aren’t really suitable. I think the patients would love them, but the staff and families would have heart attacks immediately after birthing several litters of kittens.
Susy S says
Yes, we have to protect old people/convalescents from the facts of life, but we can let them all about killing and mayhem. We are a sick culture.
Bek says
LOL, are you sure we aren’t related?
