Here is the list of new release for May 8 to May 14! (Short list, this week…)
Jessica Beck (aka Elizabeth Bright, Casey Mayes, Melissa Glazer, Chris Cavender, Tim Myers, & D.B. Morgan): Cranberry Crimes (This will be the 31st in the Donut Shop Mystery Series.)
Jo Anne says
Have read all of the books available at my library for all of the names and loved them.

Darn it all to socks, now I want cranberry doughnuts. I’ve never tried this series, but I’m adding it to my list!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
JoQ, I hope you enjoy it.
Bek says
Oh, no. No, I can’t…ANOTHER series with recipes included! I REFUSE…maybe. Sorta. Um….
~wanders away to read more about the series and rearrange books on the shelves, whimpering softly~
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Bek, I certainly know how that goes!
Susy says
Bek, I have read through book 7 in the series and just bought book 12. Obviously I am enjoying the series.
I recently boxed up some books I don’t plan to reread for a year or two (I hope) to make room for more new books. This really is an addiction.
Bek says
It certainly is! I have about 350 books on my shelves right now, another 400-500 on my “want to read” list, and of THOSE, at least 3/4 will be keepers! And I re-read those keepers on a regular basis…I go through the whole collection every three years or so, along with new purchases!
My friend keeps telling me that I should get an e-reader, but there is just something about a print book that I LOVE! Not to mention how satisfying it is to go to my shelves and run a finger along the spines, waiting for THE book to say, “Read ME next!”
Susy says
Bek,
Agreed. I have found the reorganizing some of my books is better than any drug ever made for relaxing ad reducing stress.
Unfortunately, I have about 1300 books I have read and intend to reread and about 900 on my to be read list. Every time I tell my husband I need to stop buying, he says I will have time to catch up on my reading when we retire and that our book budget will be less.
That is part of why we are loading up a 16 or 18 foot truck and driving it 2500 mile to the other side of the country at Thanksgiving. We both have a ton of books and other collectibles.
Bek says
Unfortunately? UNfortunately? UNFORTUNATELY? Oh, my Dear, that is wealth beyond measure! When I think of all the books that I lost in the house fire, I just want to curl up and cry! I’ve replaced about 40% of them now, along with other, newer finds, but OH MY BOOKS! Since none of us, including the animals, were hurt, we were so blessed, but…OH, MY BOOKS! There are still authors that are totally missing from my shelves. All of the Mary Stewarts, Andre Nortons, Spider Robinsons, Georgette Heyers and the Charles DeLints still have to be replaced. Yeah, I’m a very eclectic reader.
Susy says
I cannot imagine the heartache of losing any of my books in a fire!
As I tell people, if books are a vice, at least the only way anyone can be hurt by my vice is if a bookcase falls on them. I do anchor them so that is unlikely.
I read mostly mysteries right now (especially the cozies), but I go in cycles. The last couple were romances and romantic suspense. I love the old Georgette Heyer and have found several over the past few years to replace the ones that have disappeared over the years. Since the hubby is a non-fiction reader, except for his collection of cartoon books (just bought 3 of the hardbound collections of L’il Abner for him), we probably have 4500 to 5000 books in our house. A fire would be devastating, especially as we both have mass market paperbacks from the 1970’s which would be difficult to impossible to replace and I have every book written by Catherine Coulter, from her early regency romances to the latest Brit in the FBI. We do keep full inventories of our books, so at least we would know what we needed to replace. As you say, they are just things, and can be (mostly) replaced, but it would still be terrible. Happy Collecting!

Diane, thanks for pointing that out! I’ve updated Tracy Kiely’s page.
