Oh shoot! I recently read Ellie Alexander for the first time and now I need to add her alter-ego to my wish list as well. That thing never stops growing, though not as fast as my TBR list.
Thanks for the updates!

There are four new releases for me this week, and all of them are the start of a new series. “Murder with a Cherry on Top”, “Natural Thorn Killer”, and “A Riesling to Die” are all on my wish list. Also on my wish list is the first release of a new series by an author not currently listed on this site…”Murder, She Knit”, from Peggy Ehrhart’s new Knit & Nibble Mystery Series. I came across this one while searching online for other books, and thought it looked cute.
All-in-all, it’s a good week for new releases. My only complaint is that neither Amazon nor Barnes & Noble are offering any of these at a reduced pre-sale price. That being the case, I’ll likely wait to purchase these releases, as my book budget this week will be spent on one of Mystery Guild’s current featured selections…”Bad Neighbors” from Maia Chance’s Agnes and Effie Mystery Series is currently being offered as a book club early release through the end of this week.
Happy Easter Week to everyone who is celebrating it! 🙂

Melanie, sounds like you’re going to have quite a number of purchases to make this week. Hopefully all those new series will be satisfying beginnings.

I think I’m going to have to give the Wine Trail series a try!
Oh, I ran across another new series that was reviewed at another site. It is the Naomie Manymules Mystery series by J. & D. Burges. When I read that it was “Jennifer Crusie meets Tony and Anne Hillerman, I made up my mind to give it a shot. I’m going to try to order this month. If it is any good, I’ll let you know!
Danna - cozy mystery list says
Bek, be sure to let us know how that goes >>> always at least somewhat keeping an eye out for new authors to add to the site, thought the list right now is very long.

Bek, a couple of weeks ago I was wishing for ‘Cozycon’. Well I have found one (I even thought about suggesting it to the sponsoring organization). It is being put on by the Poisoned Pen book store in Scottsdale, AZ on May 5.
Much to my dismay, I will be visiting the area just two weeks before Cozycon, but I will visit the store and see if this is an annual event. I am hoping it is and maybe they will have a mailing list I can get on so I can plan to go next year.
I know you are in the South East, so Scottsdale may not be some place you can go easily. It does makes me wonder if there are not other independent book stores, specializing in mysteries, that might be interested in doing the same thing.
Bek says
OOOOOH! Well, at some point I might actually relocate to Colorado, at which point it might be easier! Huh, that’s a thought. If they do, others might! I wonder how one would find out. I may have to do some digging!

I picked up Natural Thorn Killer today and just finished it. I love all the series by Kate Dyer-Seeley and Ellie Alexander and have them all.I will now have to add this new series to my collection. Very enjoyable with likable characters that I could easily visit with and browse in their shops. Looking forward to her next one scheduled for November.

Robin, thanks for the recommendation! I’ll have to put it on my to be read pile, though that’s already a pretty daunting stack of books…

So many new mysteries! As new cozy reader I like that. Thank you Danna for the list. You’re the best.

Suranjana, you’re welcome! I’m glad to be able to help you find new mysteries.

Welcome to the Wonderful World of Cozies! I just found them a few months ago, and my shelves are already filling up. I hope that you enjoy this genre and this delightful site as much as I have, although I’m not sure that is possible!

After reading the synopses and reviews of these series that I’m unfamiliar with, I think I’m going to be adding Vickie Fee’s Liv and Di in Dixie Mystery Series to my wish list. I like that the main characters are party planners…not only is it different from the other cozies I’ve read so far and have on my TBR pile and wish list, but the party planning profession seems like it would set the scene for some interesting mysteries.
And my cozy list keeps growing… 🙂

Melanie, it’s definitely a highly recommended series for a reason, so I hope you enjoy it!
